Thapa VC - 8.20 Kempton

I'm giving one last chance to this Thapa VC, a bit of a cliff horse for me.

Oisin Murphy returns to the saddle. Hope he learnt a lot from the last time he rode it and will finally get it to put its head in front.

Don’t give up mate, I posted 37 consecutive losers on a thread once, a chastening experience but looking at what I was doing and adapting the method, I started to find some winners and ended the season in profit
 
Angel Sense - 5.13 Newbury.

In a race full of unexposed types and complete debutants, Angel Sense brings the strongest form to the table. She was a narrow second on debut at Kempton and followed up with two solid thirds at Nottingham and Wolverhampton.

The form of her last run at Wolverhampton in late May has been franked since. The fourth-place horse from that race came out and won, and the fifth-place finisher went on to run an excellent third in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot. That is serious form for a Class 4 novice event.

Marco Botti is dropping her back down to her preferred 6f trip after she seemed to just stretch her stamina limits over 7f last time out. Additionally, she is fitted with a first-time tongue strap today, which suggests the yard has identified a way to eke out a bit more finishing power.

Mythical Guest - 2.00 Ascot.

Mythical Guest loves Ascot. He has placed in three of his four lifetime starts at this track. Crucially, he finished a rock-solid third in this same race last year.

The handicapper has thrown him a lifeline. After a slow start to his season, he showed much better spark three weeks ago, and he has dropped another 4 lbs in the weights since.

Basilette - 5.20 Stratford.

Basilette absolutely loves Stratford. Her career record at this venue is an incredibly consistent 1423214. She thrives on the sharp, flat nature of the course.

She ran a highly creditable fourth, was held up out the back, made good headway before being slightly blocked, just two weeks ago. She is a proven course-and-distance winner and Daniel Sansom knows her well and takes off a valuable 3lb

Ramon Di Loria - 4.00 ayr


Big price difference to JKR Cobbler who beat him last time and now has to give 2lbs..

This 8-year-old veteran has shown a clear resurgence lately, coming here off the back of a pair of consecutive 3rd-place finishes. He won twice on the All-Weather back in February, proving he still has plenty of engine when the setup is right.

Ramon Di Loria is a previous course winner here at Ayr. Returning to this layout will suit him perfectly, and the step back up to a stiffer 7f trip plays directly to his staying power at this class level.

Sunny Orange - 3.48 Beverley.

Absolutely loves the Westwood and off last winning mark.

Well drawn and if he gets the little step up in trip, should go well.

Fentiman often rides.
