My latest effort

Hi yes was disappointing been rattling my brain all day and have come up with a method which I hope works, still based on the same ideas I originally had, but with a slight difference in the calculations, looked at two races earlier both won, the idea came from something the BluesBrother wrote, and i've taken that idea and used it with my own ideas. So now the test I am going to have a go at the last at Chelsford 9:10.

Thanks for the effort on your rateings, i spend alot of hours trying on HRB to figure out better system of rateings and im the same...it gets your brain going but just can't figure out why one horse is alot less in the rateing and still beating the higher rateing, i guess thats raceing for us...pain the bum but we just keep coming back for more.

are you working these rateings with excel spreadsheet?
 
Not to bad a result, 2ud highest rateing was 1st, im interested how you get the rateings..is it simple?

Hope you can post rateings for tomorrow aswell see if can get more good results

to be honest i've been trying and trying to find away to find 3 weakest horses in the race so i can go against them but every angle i try i get some success then alot of loss's, i signed up to towerform rateings for a month and im getting the same inconstancy, he has speed rateing and handicap rateing so would of thought bottom 3 in either list would not be so good so i would go against it and afew winners come from the bottom, just don't understand..i think my brain is drained trying to look at angles why it won but can't do it.
 
Hi chris-suk I also just do not get it I have been going through the race again and again trying to get Greenside to come out top rated or at least in top 3 but no matter what I try he is always rated low, I just can not think of what else to try

No Ratings would have picked up Greenside. Lightly races for a 5 Y-O and first run on the going

LTO Comment "well backed after 5 months off, failed to meet expectations but did enough to suggest he can make an impact off this mark, likely to prove the point another day; mid-field, rapid headway around 3f out, no extra under 2f out, not persevered with once held, paid the price for big move into contention."

I recall > 40yrs ago subscribing to the race form ratings sent by post several times a week printed on yellow paper.A reputable company they advertised @ 50% winners in there top 4 which to the novice punter i was sounded attractive.Of course in practice these figs inc many very short priced winners and it was on the user to correctly pick the meat from the bones.All these years later i suspect little has changed in this respect.?
 
I am using ratings more now for my laying bets mainly, and i use 5 sets all based on different elements and they are working very well at present, but also form is the real key i feel, because the elements are more like a strong foundation, but also can help to locate quickly horses for inspection.

Yes as AR states above any rating system that locates 50% in the top three is great, but that is why i like to intersect them more and then one can get into a bit higher percentages as well.

You could look at Trend Races

Example

One Trend Race Tomorrow and nothing outside of the first three in the Market have won

Just a question?
Since last year, Wexford started racing Left-handed, doesn't this make the trends for the NH course obsolete.
I had to come up with a new set of standard times for the course...

Can you do these treads on everyrace because i can see it on big races but not all races, i was thinking mite be a better way if could see if the horse carrying weight was + plus or a negative thing in the races would be a good thing, i think weight seems to effect alot of things in a race like if it can compete with other horses in the race
