Musings from a Muppet

Blimey! :eek::eek::eek:

Black Cherry 1st @10/1
Regal Dan 1st @15/2

Chain of Events down the field.

Striding Out now a non runner so two to go at Chepstow.

Six selections, one non runner, one unplaced, three winners and one still to run. If Carlsberg did betting selections......

15 races for tomorrow warrant closer scrutiny. Looks like another busy night when I hit the canteen, ooh no sorry, it's a staff restaurant.....delusions of grandeur I suspect.....

Aaman also a non runner now so done for today. The e/w Trixie looks a bit bare with two non runners though!lol but at least there was a shortie to go with them so it doubles it's stake. All adds to the kitty.

Thanks for the interest guys. Could never have dared it would start like this. Thought I was chancing my arm putting them out there after day one, when it was only after the results came in I posted.

Haven't been going mad doing them in multiples. A few each way doubles and trebles where stated nothing more. My bank has multiplied several times over in a few days though so it's not so much a kitty, as beginning to resemble a war chest! We all know why bookies love multiples so much. The S/R has been amazing so far but there's no way that's going to continue. Discipline and bank management are what we always try to pass on to newbies on here so I really need to practise what we preach and not get too excited about a purple patch. Inevitably there will be a downside. If I can keep finding a few winners and keep the bank growing then at some point I'll review the results and look at what would have been the optimum staking plan regarding multiples and whether it's feasible going forward. For now, I'm just going to enjoy the ride while it lasts.

Leicester 8:15 Illustriuos Prince 9/1 e/w
Musselboro 2:50. Classy Anne 14/1 and Rothesay Chancer 10/1. Both e/w
Naval 3:20 Calm Boy 12/1 e/w
Navan 3:55 Zhukova 8/13 win

Not a fan of putting up odds on shots but when I make my selections I have no idea what the price will be till I get as far as putting the bet on.

Calm Bay 12/1 second beaten 0.5l

Illustrious Prince 16/1 and Rothesay Chancer 12/1 have run well considering RC is 0-13 above 77. Jim will get his mark down and he will win again.

At those prices you can afford a few bad days, well done Sigster Sigster they're still running well.

Cheers mlmrob mlmrob was just about to update.

Had to make it a quick look today and can't see anything to get too excited about so not bothering. Hope to get a bit longer to look through the cards tomorrow but looks like another tough night at work so have to wait and see what time I get.

I don't even look at the price until after I decide whether something is worth a bet which is probably how I've arrived at some decent priced horses up to now. Unfortunately today's are short and shorter. I'll put them up if for no other purpose than to be included when I come to review things.

Windsor
6:20 Alkhor 2/5
6:50 Kumanavsum 13/8

At those prices both win singles. Don't feel there's much value in the double.

On a (possibly) separate note I'd be interested to hear whether people have an opinion on what day they bet and why. I believe I've read somewhere on here about people who exclude certain days of the week for various reasons.....

I'm not a fan of Saturdays, and I know of a group of others who avoid Sundays & Mondays.

I think it's probably to do with the type of racing on Saturdays for me, maybe the others think that some trainers give their staff a break on Sunday or Monday?

This is Richard Hannon Jr for 2014

Mark Johnston

and Sir Michael Stoute

Mark Johnston looks remarkably consistent, Sir Michael has a slow start to the week - living for Saturdays, Richard Hannon has lots on Monday because of Windsor.

So it may be you need to look at Trainers by day...

and after all that - no qualifiers today!!!!!
