My post wasn't to tell people what to bet on, or even how to bet. I fully understand people enjoy the puzzle of trying to find the winner of a race, but the reality is, that in order to be successful in this game, this is how it's possible.think the main point we all know or knew about looking about for odds changes in bookies to get better prices and yes you can live a life searching odds but what is the fun in daily life as that has maybe the biggest value on it.
Wasn’t the Betfair premium charge set up to catch just what you described - many multiple bets all day every day. The rules were changed a couple of years agoGood luckgerry , im back to doing it the old fashioned way myself now too. The puzzle is the fun part.
Because soft bookmakers who offer concessions such as BOG are easier to beat.Even for Normal punters I cannot see a reason why most would not be better of using Betfair
If you can keep an account - I agree but who can ?Because soft bookmakers who offer concessions such as BOG are easier to beat.
Even for Normal punters I cannot see a reason why most would not be better of using Betfair - the liquidity is not what it once was but that would effect most punters .
Yes I understand that you are using one to play of the other - I was referring to just straight backing punters not those using your mass betting methodBecause if you are using betfair as the "marker"
Its much more difficult to beat the betfair SP price.
(it can be done, but you are looking at 6-7% rather than 15-17%)
They are the ones that move the market, we are picking off those who delay moving prices when the market is moving.
I was referring to just straight backing punters
I was FLYING when I had BOG with earlies and very little restriction, but those days are goneThen yep, for the most part .. 90% would be better off using betfair.
Unless they like the gimmicky bets.
First past the post, BOG, the ability to bet the night before and other perks still makes the books attractive though.
Not sure what you mean - but I do know the markets pre race day are no good - the morning market is equally no goodI was FLYING when I had BOG with earlies and very little restriction, but those days are gone
So I had to learn how my winning bets typically behave in the market to know when to bet to have best chance of beating starting prices
I meant when I'm likely to get the best price for my selection. Not sure what you mean - but I do know the markets pre race day are no good - the morning market is equally no good
Can be impossible to get right - staggered bets helpI meant when I'm likely to get the best price for my selection.
I wouldn't claim to have mastered it yet but I'm certainly better than I was
That'll be why the odds crashed ... i just thought i was following the "smart money"There was trouble at a recent event when it was discovered one of the competitors was a bloke.
Where's that from S simon boardman ? I like it.
yeah staggered bets can help but keeping records of the early, isp, bsp and actual price attained , to then refer back to and analyse helped me a lotCan be impossible to get right - staggered bets help
I think ( could be age ) time spent on relentless tracking and record keeping becomes a distraction - personally I would analyse the shit out of everything - the focus was to keep a 30% profit over 100 bets and tweak if necessary and start again All good and necessary to ensure I was not fooling myself.yeah staggered bets can help but keeping records of the early, isp, bsp and actual price attained , to then refer back to and analyse helped me a lot
