Just working my way through the meetings, came across this one too. It can be further filtered if you prefer, but a good base for a decent jockey who doesn't venture to Bath often.

Hi Sullybomb Sullybomb Just had a quick look at the race

Note Two of his previous winners of this race were making their debut

Here is a full pedigree analysis for the unraced filly Music Academy, based on the provided breeding and auction data.

Without any race form to assess, her potential is entirely based on her "on-paper" credentials. Based on her pedigree, her estimated speed gene is overwhelmingly likely to be C:C. This genotype is typical for sprinters and milers. She is bred to be a sharp, fast, and precocious individual who should excel over distances of 6 furlongs to a mile.

Comprehensive Analysis: Music Academy (IRE)

Pedigree Analysis

Music Academy possesses a potent, high-class pedigree that is heavily geared towards speed and precocity.

  • Sire: Kingman: A modern great and a Champion Miler, known for his devastating turn of foot. He was a four-time Group 1 winner at a mile, and his progeny are renowned for their class and miling ability. Kingman is a premier source of speed and quality, and his presence as the sire immediately marks a horse as a top-class prospect. His sire stats are excellent, with 9% of his foals becoming Black Type (Stakes) winners.
  • Dam: Pure Excellence: While her own race record isn't available, her breeding is all about speed. She is a daughter of the world-class sprinter and exceptional sire of two-year-olds, Exceed And Excel. Her dam, in turn, is by a Classic-winning miler in Spectrum. This is a pedigree that consistently reinforces speed and the ability to perform at two.
  • Broodmare Sire: Exceed And Excel: A champion sprinter in Australia and one of the world's most successful "shuttle stallions." He is a dominant influence for precocity and raw speed. As a broodmare sire, he is highly sought after, and his daughters reliably produce fast, early-maturing horses. His position here strongly suggests Music Academy will be quick to learn and could make an early debut.

Genetic and Breeding Profile

  • Speed Gene Estimation (C:C): This is a straightforward estimation. Her sire, Kingman, is a definitive C:C type and will pass on a C allele. Her dam, being by the pure sprinter Exceed And Excel (C:C), is almost certain to be a C:C type herself and will also pass on a C allele. The resulting C:C genotype points towards a filly who will be at her absolute best between 6 furlongs and a mile.
  • Nicking Statistics: The cross of Kingman with mares by Exceed And Excel has proven to be very successful. The statistics show:
    • From 10 foals, 8 have run and 6 have won (a strong 60% winners-to-foals rate).
    • Crucially, this cross has produced 2 Black Type (Stakes) winners at an excellent 20% strike rate.
    • This "nick" is a proven formula for producing high-class racehorses.
  • Inbreeding: She is inbred 4x4 to Danzig, a legendary stallion and a cornerstone of global speed pedigrees. This reinforces the traits of speed and precocity that are already abundant in her pedigree.

Auction & Connections

  • Sale Price: $806,813: Music Academy was sold at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, one of the most prestigious sales in the world. Her high price tag indicates that she was an outstanding physical specimen who attracted fierce bidding from top judges. This level of investment suggests she is held in very high regard.
  • Buyer: A.C. Elliott: Purchased by Alex Elliott Bloodstock, a respected agent known for buying high-quality prospects for major owners. This purchase confirms that she is destined for a top training stable where she will be given every opportunity to succeed.

Conclusion and Likely Race Profile 🚀

As an unraced filly, Music Academy is a prospect of considerable potential.

  • Profile: Everything about her breeding screams speed and precocity. She has the genetic makeup to be a very sharp two-year-old.
  • Likely Debut: Expect her to make her racecourse debut over 6 or 7 furlongs
  • Optimal Distance: Her ideal trip throughout her career is likely to be 7 furlongs to a mile.
  • Potential: Given her price tag and elite pedigree, her connections will undoubtedly have ambitions for her to compete in high-profile two-year-old fillies' races during the late summer and autumn festivals. She is a hugely exciting prospect on paper.

LOL played up in the stalls and taken out

Will have to undertake and pass a stalls test before being allowed to run again

@ Chesham,
Is this sort of information on Breeding etc freely available? I've seen a few posts on here with this deep level analysis.

A T/J combo that does pretty well over the years. Not sure how significant jockey bookings are in the grand scheme of things but, he does have a good record for the stable.

:handgestures-thumbup: Sul
I'd say jockey bookings can be extremely significant.

Particularly when a top sought-after jockey like Rossa Ryan rides for a small yard, in a lower-class race.

Probably, top jockeys will just take an extra ride sometimes if trainers or owner they mainly ride for, (Ralph Beckett in his case- except on the Valmont owned horses as Hector Crouch rides those), sends one to the track. Rossa Ryan generally takes a lot of rides too, so that must be taken into account. William Buick for example rides far fewer on a card normally.
Ralph Beckett didn;t have a runner at the track on Tuesday but Rossa is rding a fair bit for Clive Cox recently and rode two horses for him at the meeting, (including in the £11k novice). So maybe the ride for Grace Harris was an afterthought this day. It certainly ran like a drain anyway.
But I definitely think there is a lot of merit in looking at jockey bookings, (perhaps in particular well before final declarations are confirmed and taking a view of what may be the jockey's main ride/s on the day and considering where else a jockey could have ridden at on the day, bearing in mind who they tend to ride for, race values, how close to trainer's base the course is at, etc).
Perhaps another factor is to look at the horse's history and see if the jockey has won on the horse before, (consecutive wins probably less significant than a jockey occasionally taking a ride on the horse and winning/finihing close-up/horse being well backed on that day).
