Sire
Quite often I see registered members of this Forum who have never made one single never post. Even worse they have been members for quite a few years.

Ot is noticeable who frequently look in to have a good read. Of everyone did the same there would be nothing to read .You are missing out by never having made a post.

There is so much more to read within the Inner Sanctum. To get access you just need to start posting and then get access

This is an Example from just one thread and many more threads by Members who are more knowledgable than myself and offer many different angles to explore.

Pedigree and Racing Report: Zeus Olympios (GB)

Horse: Zeus Olympios (GB) Foaled: April 02, 2022 Sex: Colt Color: Chestnut Breeder: Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum (GB) Owner: Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum Trainer: K. R. Burke

Racing Summary: A highly promising, undefeated three-year-old, Zeus Olympios has won all three of his starts to date. He capped his progression by winning the Best Odds On The Betfair Exchange Superior Mile Stakes [G3] at Haydock Park, establishing himself as a pattern-class performer. His current Timeform rating is 108p, with the 'p' indicating he is considered highly likely to improve further.

Pedigree Analysis

Zeus Olympios possesses a stallion's pedigree, combining the potent sire line of Dubawi with a deep, high-class female family renowned for producing top-tier juvenile talent and milers.

He is by the English 2000 Guineas winner Night of Thunder, one of Dubawi's most successful sons at stud, known for imparting class and a turn of foot.

The maternal line is equally impressive. His dam, Rhea, was a stakes-placed two-year-old by the elite French sire Siyouni. The quality deepens with each generation:

  • The 2nd dam, Titian's Pride, is a half-sister to a stakes performer and has produced a Classic winner in India.
  • The 3rd dam, Titian Time, was a high-weighted filly in England, runner-up in the prestigious PrixMarcelBoussac[G1], and a track-record setter at Belmont Park.
  • The 4th dam, Timely, was herself a Group 1-placed juvenile in the MoyglareStudS.[G1] and is the foundation mare for this branch of the family, having produced five individual black-type horses.
A key factor in this horse's profile is the "nick" or cross between his sire and broodmare sire. The mating of Night of Thunder with Siyouni mares has been exceptionally successful. From only 6 foals of racing age, this cross has produced 5 starters, 4 winners, and 2 stakes winners (33% stakes winners to foals), for an outstanding Average Earnings Index (AEI) of 3.31, indicating the progeny perform more than three times better than statistical expectations.

Breeding and Conformation Notes

  • Inbreeding: He is a complete outcross through five generations, with no duplicated ancestors in his pedigree. This is often considered a source of genetic strength and constitutional soundness.
  • Dosage Profile: His Dosage Index (DI) of 0.91 with a Center of Distribution (CD) of -0.0454 points towards a blend of speed and stamina, with a strong aptitude for distances around a mile. This profile is consistent with his performance in the Group 3 Superior Mile.
Based on the sectional data provided, here is a detailed race report for Zeus Olympios.

Zeus Olympios produced an impressive late surge to win, demonstrating a potent turn of foot to come from off the pace in a race run at a strong gallop.

Race Analysis

The race was run at a significantly faster-than-average pace, confirmed by the Vs.Par time of -2.61 seconds. This strong early gallop was primarily set by the 6th place finisher, Snow Master, who led for the first six furlongs. This demanding pace ultimately set the race up perfectly for a horse with a strong finish, like Zeus Olympios.

Sectional Breakdown

Early to Mid-Race (Furlongs 1-6)

Zeus Olympios broke reasonably well and was settled in 4th position through the first three-quarters of the race.

  • 1f - 17.59s (+0.62s): He was positioned in mid-division, 0.62 seconds off the leader.
  • 2f - 6f: He maintained this 4th position consistently, travelling patiently behind the strong pace. Throughout this phase, his sectional times show he was conserving energy, sitting between 0.13 and 0.84 seconds slower than the leader in each furlong. He was clearly being held onto for a late run.

The Finish (Furlongs 7-8)

The decisive moments of the race occurred in the final quarter-mile.

  • 7th Furlong (11.14s): This is where Zeus Olympios made his move. He produced the fastest sectional of any horse in the race for this furlong (indicated by the +0.00 split, meaning no horse ran it faster). This burst of speed took him from 4th place into the lead.
  • 8th Furlong (11.78s): After taking the lead, he sustained his effort powerfully to the line. He again clocked the fastest final furlong time of the race, pulling clear to win by a comfortable 2 lengths.

Conclusion

This was a high-class performance from Zeus Olympios. His ability to produce the two fastest closing sectionals in a race that was already run at a frantic pace is the key takeaway. His Finishing Speed Percentage (FSP) of 106.01% is notably high and underscores his powerful finish. He was ridden with perfect timing, conserving energy early before delivering a winning kick. This performance suggests he is a talented horse who thrives in strongly run races where his turn of foot can be used to maximum effect.

some are afraid they'll be castigated or made to look daft, others are just lurkers and others feel smart that they've taken and not given anything themselves

but it doesn't matter how much you've done on your own part , you can gain indirectly just by discussing things and it triggering thoughts/ideas re your own work

Agreed I’m back after a very long time away and have already made one small contribution with hopefully more to come especially regarding Horseracebase which I have been using for years and years

Just my daft sense of humour.

I was saying that the spreadsheets posted up, offer so much information, even the the guys that made millions/billions from horse racing, have fled the scene in disbelief that all their information has been posted up, for free. (Of course it hasn't, but there is some good stuff in the thread)

Bill Benter went to Hong Kong, and recently, so did Patrick Veitch.

Chesham Chesham that post is one hell of a post. I totally agree that new posts are the lifeline to any forum. I also agree that there is so much to read and learn from on the inner sanctum written by genuine lovers of the sport and in some cases boarding on horse racing genius.

I myself have been away from the forum and racing due huge time constraints with elderly poorly parents and demanding kids and grandkids. If I get the time and I have something I think is interesting or valuable to post then I will. It will most likely be related to the All Weather racing side of things as I tend to focus on this more as it reduces the amount of races and helps me find big priced winners along with a lot of bigger priced losers.

Anyway I will try but can’t promise. Good to see the core members are still very active and as ever really engaging. Keep up the good work guys.

Doesn't take much effort to post, this post to less than a minute.

Metabolt, 4.35 Haydock, is 1lb lower than his last winning mark. He is best over 7f-8f, handles any ground and is 4-10 off marks of 85 or less with a further three places.

I do feel overpowered by more streetwise and knowledgeable members but love the insights. It is the reasoning that is enjoyable. Sorry for not being too prolific but fishing is well in my mix too plus I run bands and host quizzes. I am also an artist and run a local art group at Stocksfield Northumberland......fishing today though 🙂
