What a game - great atmosphere - Thought Barnsley were great , had great energy boarding on frantic and really up for it - good result for both side and Bradford remain still undefeated whilst league leaders slipped up and we are keeping the pressure on.

All in all it was a great advert for the game and lower leagues.
 
Another defeat for Newton Ayciliffe yesterday in front of 169. That puts them second bottom and losing their two top goalscorers to Bishop Auckland and Stockton in the summer is now telling. With the once mighty Blyth Spartans and Blyth Town the other two sitting at the foot of the table, it looks like relegation back to the Northern League beckons and that may be the way to go. Lots of youngsters playing Northern League football this season and the Northern Premier East isn't the place for a team full of them.

Bradford Park Avenue sit third having lost just one game but seven draws is costing them. A brilliant defence only conceding 9 in 15 games a 0-0 against Heaton Stannington was a crascking game apparently in front of 360 but the Stan Army do take a few to away games.
There was 507 at Silsden when Bradford played them the other night, local Derby?
 
mlmrob mlmrob - yes Big Derby - Silsden are quite remarkable for such a small local club - great set up - good junior section - good facilities - nice club house - hosts many local functions - ground for 500 odd supporters is probably a problem - but that was a great result for Silsden , they probably thought they were going win all along.

Don’t know who puts up the money , at the moment they are having a council problem with unauthorised signage and parking is also a problem , although you can get the ground via train station an easy 10mins walk away. Just drove past Wilsden Juniors , there must have two hundred cars choking the area. Junior football is very big around here.
 
Big game tomorrow - we have injuries so it’s the balance - but after a great start Stevange slipped last week and considering their last season form ? you have to question can they carry the can for an extended period , hopefully not , we will need some help tomorrow - on a brighter note Leeds are are 2 up as I type this .
 
Stevenage look to be consistent in their performance and are profitable to back when playing at home.

Not much value in the over/under goals, as it stands.

More injuries to contend with for Tuesday nights home game against 6th place Lincoln - hopefully the home advantage ( huge at Bradford recently) will be a big impact and help with the required 3 point / boost result .

And that’s just about as technical as I get when it come to 22 blokes pushing or chasing a pneumatically enhanced globe around a green field .
 
Maaclesfield v South Shelds, National League North, drew in a crowd 3100 yesterday and 180 fans travelled from Truro to Gateshead. Some journey for those guys.
No game for Aycliffe as they go to Ashington next Friday for a relegation six pointer.

Bradford Park Avenue dumped Morpeth from the league above out the FA Trophy yesterday on penalties.

South Shields v Shrewbury live on TNBT next Sunday in FA Cup first round.

Bradford City have settled well into life in League One following last season’s promotion and the Bantams will be looking to make the most of home advantage when they welcome Lincoln City to Valley Parade on Tuesday night.

Well, that was a shock result for me. Fortunately not too much damage done as those around City suffered similar fates as did Stevenage last night. A win today would have welcome, but as you say, best to put it behind you and move on.

Lincoln v Doncaster catches the eye mainly due to Doncaster's poor away form.

Lincoln last 3 league games have been away, with a good point @ Bradford, although only 1 goal scored in 5, will surely relish a home game having previously beaten Stevenage @ Luton.

Any one watch England last night ? - personally I thought they were disjointed and it was not the best game to watch - played at a sedate pace almost felt like a Friendly - when the pundits go on about how much faster the game is now and how the great players of the 60 / 70s etc could not keep up ? / these lads are playing in slippers on a nice carpet with a ball that weighs half as much ? - any of those top sides playing with a traditional centre half and front three would have scored a hat full last night.
 
I don't like International football, disrupting the club season, affecting momentum and adding to the list of injuries of much needed players. Why can't they play out of season!
