I'm being honest. This is what I think. I'm f**ked off.

Great D'Ange gave his all. I love him. This was so his race but just like last time, collared and so unfair. I'm so upset Katie took this race.

Evaluation soon, if there is one possible from formlines.

I get £60 back so profit of £20 but so upset for Great D'Ange. Please let him win a race and hoping a 3 and a quarter mile chase at Newton Abbot. I could visit Newton Abbot races, if I see him running. I live in Crawley, West Sussex.

17:22 Newton Abbot 19 Jul 2026 Sun Racing Summer Jumps Championship Handicap Chase Class 5 | 4YO plus 3m 1f 170y Good to Firm (Good in places)

1 My Girl Katie (IRE) 9 10-10
2 1¼ Great D'ange (FR) 10 11-5 t v
3 9½ Premier Fantasy (IRE) 7 12-0 t
4 5 Mcgregors Charge 8 10-7 t1 p
5 3 Testflight 9 10-2
6 nk No More No (IRE) 7 11-13 t v
7 25 Honey I'm Good (IRE) 10 10-8 t v

On form Great D'Ange should be 12 and a quarter lengths in front of Testflight, as above evaluation. Great D'Ange was 17 and a half lengths in front of Testflight. Great D'Ange has run peak here and Testflight has run 5 and a quarter lengths below form, in this race. Not bad evaluation above. Testflight is better on Good Ground. Looking at those 2 runs with My Girl Katie 2025, Testflight run 8 and a half lengths worse, on Good (Good To Firm in places). So I assessed Testflight for Good (Good To Firm in places) for this race, knowing ground would be against him running his peak. Testflight has run even worse, as it was quicker, Good To firm (Good in places). This could be reason that Testflight has run another 5 and a quarter lengths below form, as ground quicker.

This also says that Great D'Ange handles Good To Firm (Good in places). Therefore those 2 runs with Honey I'm Good I put above, it is not ground to blame those runs when Great D'Ange run below peak. It is amateur jockey Mr Martin McIntyre that caused that horse to run below peak twice. Mr Martin McIntyre, hang up your boots! You can't ride!

Katie has run a lot better than last years form and I saw that she was held up in rear for a very long time, and this could a reason she has run better. Tactics.

I still got another £20 out of you 36 Vegas. Thanks.

Of Course I Can is forecast at 20/1, At The Races, this race being 3.15 Uttoxeter 24th July. Looks an E/W bet.

Also look out for Miami Jim 66/1. Trained by Rosemary Gasson, who had Jolly Boys Outing and Kilcascan, she is a capable trainer, Miami Jim could run fair race.

Karnival Point is in 3.42 Uttoxeter 26th July. Lets see what price he is.

£3 E/W If Course I Can 14/1 finished 5th. Handicapper has to relent. This was a competitive race.

£1 E/W Miami Jim 28/1. Saw 50/1 this morning. Not a 28/1 chance but even so, a small bet. This was too competitive for him and a small race somewhere, could be in his grasp.

I was unhappy as I have been thinking this week of Of Course I Can, then saw he wore cheek pieces. Also Miami Jim wore them. I try not to bet horses in cheekpieces, because of my interest in sheep. Some cheekpieces are just fleece and some are artificial but no way of knowing.

But as I have been thinking Of Course I Can all week, choose to bet. It was in the balance right up to 1430 hrs, if I would bet or not.

The last horse that I liked but had cheekpieces I never bet, and it was 3rd. I ruled that I would never bet a horse in cheekpieces again, and that was reason I never bet this horse that finished 3rd.

However, tempted this race.

I hate it though.

Never bet in Galway Plate before. Lets try to nail it.

6.40 Galway

Reverend Hubert is 12/1. He beat Solitary Man 2 and a quarter lengths giving 5 lb to Solitary Man. That says at level weights Reverend Hubert would beat Solitary Man 7 and a quarter lengths. Reverend Hubert is giving 3 lb in this race, so at weights Reverend Hubert should finish 4 and a quarter lengths in front of Solitary Man. I'm sure Solitary Man 40/1 is running a superb race.

Also Solitary Man beat Perceval Legallios 2 and a half lengths, Perceval Legallios giving 9 lb, last time. At level weights Perceval Legalios would finish 6 and a half lengths in front of Solitary Man. In this race, Perceval Legallios is giving 5 lb to Solitary Man, so should be a length and a half superior of Solitary Man. I think Perceval Legallios 28/1 is running a superb race.

Senecia is 125/1. This is absolutely crazy. Last time he beat Three Card Brag a length, giving 8 lb. At level weights Senecia is 9 lb better than Three Card Brag. Senecia is giving 7 lb to Three Card Brag. Senecia should finish 2 lengths superior of Three Card Brag, at these weights. Three Card Brag is just 16/1. Senecia is 125/1.

Also in that race Senecia took, Jesse Evans was 3rd, 4 lengths behind receiving 8 lb. At level weights Senecia is 12 lb better than Jesse Evans. Senecia is giving 7lb to Jesse Evans. Senecia should finish 5 lengths in front of Jesse Evans, at these weights. Jesse Evans is just 13/1.

Senecia E/W 125/1
Reverend Hubert E/W 12/1

Senecia unseated rider. Reverend Hubert never really competitive. Solitary Man never really competitive. £12 lost. Think Senecia could have been involved, in the finish.

A conditional jockeys handicap chase at Newton Abbot, 2.30 this Saturday. Looks very exciting. Usual horses running. Great D'Ange is in this race and wanted to visit. See if I can. He is 1lb better with My Girl Katie, for a length and a quarter. So he is assessed about right, by h'capper. Says he is being involved in finish. Also Premier Fantasy that run really well finishing 3rd to My Girl Katie, is a WHOPPING 10lb BETTER, being beaten 10 and three quarter lengths, finishing 3rd to My Girl Katie, last time.

On that running at these weights, My Girl Katie should beat Great D'Ange a quarter of a length, and Premier Fantasy should be another half a length, in rear of Great D'Ange.

Handicapper has assessed those horses about right. This is for sure, an EACH WAY race.

Limerick Leader is also in this race. He beat Great D'Ange half a length, receiving 4 lb from Great D'Ange in a 2 and a half mile chase at Newton Abbot, last year. In this race, Great D'Ange is 2 lb better for that half a length, so Limerick Leader should be a length and a half, in rear of Great D'ange.

I have also assessed Slaney Opera through a line with Special John and Edgewell, to Testflight and took that line from Testflight to Great D'Ange. I also adjusted Testflight's running behind Edgewell at Newton Abbot as it was too firm and he runs 8 and a half lengths worse, on Good (Good to Firm in places).

I found Slaney Opera can get no closer than a length and three quarters, to Great D'Ange.

I think that it is a close race. Great D'Ange E/W is my bet. I think there is bother from My Girl Katie again, at the finish, it is real close. Look out for Premier Fantasy running a huge race, also watch his price. He looks like being in the finish.

That 2.30 at Newton Abbot cut up more than I thought. Also Great D'Ange is just 11/4. I was hoping for at least 4/1 for E/W. Also My Girl Katie now has a conditional jockey that can claim in this race, actually only conditional jockey in this race claiming. It is also a WHOPPING 7lb! So that quarter of a length in front of Great D'Ange is 7 and a quarter lengths, at these weights. A further length and a half in rear is Limerick Leader, at these weights. Not sure I'm visiting Newton Abbot now. Seems Katie is hacking up at these weights. All because a 7lb claimer has been put up. I have been thinking this could happen all week, and ruin the race. This stable knew they were putting a 7lb claimer up, I'm sure. Should conditional jockeys be allowed to claim any allowance, if it is a conditional jockeys race?

I'm still f**ked off at My Girl Katie overtaking Great D'Ange 50 yards from line last time. Last thing I want is to go there and see a real thumping, at these weights.

This is how race looks.

1 My Girl Katie 10st 11lb
2 7 1/4l Great D'Ange 11st 12lb
3 1 1/2l Limerick Leader 11st 10lb

Honey I'm Good I never thought could run competitive race last time and I thought no chance. She run even worse than I thought. If I bothered to assess her like I have before, she would not be involved. I would say she has no chance.

Then you have an outsider that I can't fathom but looks no chance. Also you have a horse from Bowens that I can't weigh up, because it has been running at tracks like Perth, Southwell and Hexham.

I'm not sure what to suggest but I think My Girl Katie is hacking up, at these weights. I think then Great D'Ange is next.

Thanks for those likes Sol Ski.

I have chosen to back My Girl Katie £20 at 9/4 36 Vegas. I see since my bet, a 5/2 at Boyle Sports is available. This 9/4 is a profit of £45.

But I also bet £20 WIN Great D'Ange at 11/4. So that is a profit of £55.

Of course, just one can win, so a further loss if £20.

Also My Girl Katie's jockey has never rode over here. He is from Ireland. I'm wondering if he could f**k this up! I was surprised by Katie's run, in that race last time and much better than her run in same race last year! Great D'Ange run in both. This is a guide.

I just think Katie's exaggerated tactics held up in rear, could have been a reason. Also Ben Jones rode her last time and before it has been Conor Ring. It could be Ben Jones just rode her better.

Clearly she improved last time, for some reason.

Thanks Kraldrew for those likes and your response.

I hope it is Great D'Ange but at weights of last run, is My Girl Katie. I'm still seething because of her overtaking Great D'Ange so late, last time.

I never went to Newton Abbot, so in my house in Crawley, West Sussex. Yes, I know it is a hole, but that is where I live! Had to have caught 8.40 am train to get there at something like 12.30 pm. Off peak ticket on a Saturday I can arrive in London before 10 am. When it is Monday to Friday I can't and now first race times getting earlier because of time of year, it is impossible to arrive for first race at Newton Abbot, Monday to Friday, because have to leave on a 09.40 am train for that.

I think there are no Saturday or Sunday meetings coming up, as can get to London before 10 am, and in time for first race.

Just chose not to visit but hope to see Great D'Ange at some point, at Newton Abbot.

My gosh! What has been happening! I see Katie is 13/8, a big punt on her but even so, I think she should have been shorter. I was surprised she was 9/4. Also Great D'Ange is now 4/1! I see 36 Vegas are BOG so I get 11/2 rather than 11/4. That is £80 so now I'm hoping he takes it BIG TIME!

Katie took it, in a hack! Won £45, minus £20 Great D'Ange, a profit of £25.

Great D'Ange clearly is suffering from running 3rd July, 19th July and now. I'm sure it is that. Great D'Ange prominent most of race but from soon after turn in, he was suffering from 2 recent tough races, I think. With soft going at future Newton Abbot meetings coming, I'm sure this is a last chance before autumn and they took it, but Great D'Ange running twice before in July has took its toll. This is not Great D'Ange at all. I'm sure you are going to ignore this run. Great D'Ange requires a break.

Limerick Leader has run below peak also, but since that victory I spoke of at 2 and a half miles last year in my evaluation above, I have to say his form this season might be a bit below that. His last couple of runs have not been impressive to me, so is he as capable as last year? A terrible run this race.

Honey I'm Good has finished 20 lengths in rear of My Girl Katie. As I thought Katie might hack up, a finishing position about 20 lengths in rear of My Girl Katie could be about right.

Apart from that, Hardy Buck, that was a surprise and served it up but couldn't cope with Katie, and apart from Honey I'm Good never near to challenge, the others I just spoke of have not run their race.

Just looking quick at a previous evaluation of July 19th Newton Abbot chase, I think Honey I'm Good has run her race being beaten 20 lengths.
