Punted Round up

The early pace was slow T tacker and he got hampered out of the stalls.

It was slower than the two classifieds overall and the early part of the race, so probably a crap race, but Collusion will still be in C6 NTO.

Looks one for the sectionals T tacker

Beat a horse who was well backed and nothing went to plan but still won
Well done doomster doomster , looks like TF agree with you

“The winner has hit a good vein of form having not been with current yard too long and got the better of a well-backed one who's dropped to a good mark in this ordinary handicap, the pair sure to be of interest again at this sort of level.

COLLUSION (IRE) had to come from off the pace through no fault of his own this time, overcoming some trouble at the start to follow up from last time in quite nice style once the gap appeared, value for a bit extra on the day; hampered start, raced off the pace, headway when forced to switch 1f out, quickened between horses to lead final 100 yds, kept on; he shouldn't go up much for this and ought to go well again.”

Well done with the price T tacker.

You mentioned over thinking on another thread and I'm in the same boat with Humam.

Looks a good thing and Balding knows far more than me, but after winning 13K & 21K , why drop grade for this 5k race.

He was also fav for the earlier C3 race, but that was only for 8k

3.25 bev...AL KHAWSSAA 11/4

After a few minutes perusing the form i appear to notice this horse with numbers around 80s whereas the fav ADOON VALLEY appears to show horses rated around mid 60s, probably need to study a little more.

Every flat season i need to remind myself of the WFA numbers and it's always worth the effort because to be honest i simply forget.
ADOON like most here is only three so there's a stone wfa involved and over the years i've felt that there's a slight advantage in favour of the 3yr olds but that's usually based on handicaps at this time of year or perhap a little later, now i mention this race because in theory there's a simple enough approach needed in evaluating the little amount of form on offer but the more i look the more complicated it gets.
First of all when i first looked at ADOON i thought maybe a 70 horse as a 2yr old but maybe he didn't run his race that last day, short priced fav on the back of a promising debut which could be argued as being around a 80 mark so which run do we take as being about right ?

Back to AL KHAW and i'm content to believe both runs score about an 80 mark so we're back to the wfa as probably the deciding factor with the caveat that a 7lb claimer with little experience (2 rides) looks to be a negative.

Others in here that you couldn't rule out but my purpose here is to point to a kind of race where there's all kinds of formlines you can follow without any of the 7 runners having met each other, what this says to me is that there's far more interest than the kind of race where horses constantly beat each other and you have to search hard for a reason to choose.

Having said all that i'm not tempted to bet even though i do feel the 4 yr old might be a little too strong at this time of year.

3.25newm....FIFTH COLUMN 0/30
One of three godophin horses in here but i feel he keeps improving as seen by winning the race of those drawn low at ascot.
I 'm not too bothered that Buick has chosen Bedouin prince over the other two because i suspect he and the gosdens might not be on the same page.
It always comes down to whether or not you feel a horses mark is lower than it's real ability and i'm of the view 5th column is closer to a 100 mark but been wrong many times before.

I just looked at this race as seen the owner has three in it and the bigger priced ones have run in better races already.
So why has BEDOUIN PRINCE not yet well i see also the other two have been gelded so i feel reading between lines it is possible taking time more with this horse to get it up in class and finally in some sort of listed or group class for breeding, Could be well out of course as it is just guess but today will definitely tell us.

Nice

July cup ?

I expect SPY CHIEF to jump out and make the running in the belief that it might suit NOTABLE SPEECH and from a enthusiastic point of view for racing i hope that's how it works out. on balance i have come round to think that will work out but i'm easily led at the best of times and did back FLORA each way earlier.
