• Hi Guest Just in case you were not aware I wanted to highlight that you can now get a free 7 day trial of Horseracebase here.
We have a lot of members who are existing users of Horseracebase so help is always available if needed, as well as dedicated section of the fourm here.
    Best Wishes

my speed horses.

I ma not so sure JennyK JennyK i feel is coming to its self and on breeding needs further looks like might need 7fur and at stiff track so lots more to come from it i am sure could be clever buy finally.

Track looked all against him gerry gerry changed leads twice in the second part of the race and was on a rotary gallop for a few seconds as you come out of the uphill section as it levels off at Leicester, rotary is the least efficient for a horse and usually track or ground - prev. evidence says not the ground so if track then ran a good race - finished under 2 lengths to the winner whilst travelling like a very bad mover. And agree a step up to 7 might be worth a shot has Newcastle and Hamilton form both uphill tracks whilst acts on Heavy as it was by times at Chester in 23

Bad quality as from laptop but that's a rotary gallop coming up as the track levels - so bad that Coolmore hate their horses being photographed like that as it could be bad for a horses rep - it's equivalent to two lead legs - he changed leads again after as he has too or he seriously injures himself but was far too late

City of Troy "caught" on the rotary after the Derby - better quality but the photographer has never been seen since :)

Stride data is useful for track and distance suitability. Stride length (efficiency) can change depending on the topography of the course, while stride frequency (stamina usage) is usually more or less inherent in a horse.

Using standard times and the assistance of Gemini, I have built a model to project the optimum stride length and frequency for any course and distance. I'm currently working on projected speed ratings, using the same model and the horses stride data.

Very interesting stuff Leodis Leodis

Love that Chesham Chesham

There was a big strider the other night that ran at Kempton which could be a very good performance - Kempton would have limited her stride on what she showed on her debut - if i remember right she clocked ~ around 25.8 feet at Newmarket on debut - did not get a chance to fully let herself down on the Polytrack and was a good deal shorter if i remember around 24.5 feet- Favourite Melody out of the Beckett yard - we know Silent Love is a well thought of 3yo and FM done well despite the track - was all over the place in the straight - two of them pulled 13 length clear

Brilliant Leodis Leodis - (y) Bang on about the track - the legs still tick over naturally (cadence is more hardwired) but the track can shorten it up markedly and the horse loses it's natural gallop

Although i had poor day yesterday no winners from 10 horses i got my money back on 7 of the 10 races.
The reason for this is cover bets and i don't know why bet365 have given the option of a lot more places as makes it a lot easier to put on the win and cover losses.
I ma wondering if it is something to do with reading they where thinking of selling up and if they get a lot more customers because of thie does it help with the value sale not sure, I would have thought its profit but likely between both .

Well done Gerry, not a bad day so, I like the way you think outside the box with reference to bet365.

Donny 1.50
I find it difficult to see how  Riot is favourite for this. It is difficult to see even on collateral form, let alone on numbers, a 7 furlong specialist, 850K price tag seven years ago, rated 93 three years ago, and weight no problem but that apart recent form is nowhere near good enough to suggest a win today imo.

The opposition though is not inspiring either, but it only takes one to step up, I couldn't back a horse with Riot's profile, I would expect Finbar's Lad to go close.

Result
1st Beattie is Back
2nd Riot
3rd Finbar's Lad

I think Riot is now ready to win in similar class, and Beattie is Back who won comfortably can win again.

I was unaware of this Gerry and hope nothing comes of it because even though i now have to use them via the back door i still think they are fairer and more trustworthy than any of the other large firms and if they sell to one of these that fairness is unlikely to remain for long. !

No JennyK JennyK you get money back they call it now used to be cover bet if the horse finished in the first 7 you got money back.
It did not though so was a loosing bet.
I had two money back and two beat today not good.

Bet365 are an absolute behemoth at managing risk
Every little "advantage" you think your getting............. is in their favour ...... in the "long run"

If they are so amazing why did they have to ban such a hopeless punter like myself sine die. I will never forget when I tried to bet Rule The World in the Grand National £1 ew at 50/1 and the wouldn’t take the full amount. I mean pathetic doesn’t do them justice. Denise probably wipes her arse with toilet roll that costs more than the liability of any of my bets.
