I did it my way

I haven't touched anything to do with VDW for years but prompted by this forum I have decided to have another look. I looked at the races on each card with the most prize money although I dismissed the Welsh Grand National as too competetive and Newcastle as rubbish. I was left with 3 races, 2.35 Lingfield, 2.40 Wincanton and 3.40 Sandown and then considered the first five in the Racing Post betting forecast. Using the method of dividing the total prize money by the number of wins I was left with 3 horses which came out on top. I did tweak the rules a little by only dividing the win prize money in the type of race the horse was running in today ie handicap chase or all weather. The 3 selections were all of interest as they were either progressive or dropped in class from their previous race having not been raised by the handicapper for being placed in their last races Anyway these are the selections and results.

Farmleigh House 2.35 Lingfield W5/2
Big Fella Thanks 2.40 Wincanton W6/1
Katenko 3.40 Sandown W5/1

Beginners luck? Watch this space.

Good information. (like the bit about only dividing win prize money by type of race run today)

We now have a new "der-wheiler" (Lovejoy-derwheil).

They'll be talking about you for the next 60 years!

I think your namesake would have been delighted with the return from his investment today. Fantastically well done. :)

hi folks new to this board but plodded about vdw boards over the years see some names from uk betting tips site it would be great if vdw,er could get things going seeing as cheltenham is just round the corner....thanks ark royal for the invite....looking forward to vdw chat, not an expert but love this way of doing things....me i,m a class/form man yes or no bet now ,tried to make things fit in the big races just for a bet ,seldom do that now....think i,m a bit more traditional than most good to see you all.....les

Well Refreshed 2.55 Plumpton W6/1

Comes out top and has only been raised 6lb by the handicapper for winning readily last time.

3.50 Wolverhampton

Trappy 6 runner race with several unexposed types and best left alone

Feckin bollocks, I looked at this yesterday and gave myself a mental reminder to check, WELL DONE Lovejoy. :lolsign:

Nothing today, the top race at Taunton is a 5 runner Novice Chase with an 8/15 favourite and Wolverhampton is rubbish. I had a look at 3.30 Kempton but the handicapper has brought Wildomar and Noble Silk closer together for a short head victory by the former. A 7lb claimer on Moderator is not for me, Roberto Pegasus could be anything and Solfilia could not win an all weather handicap off of 7lb lower. Best left alone.

Wildomar was raised 3lb for that short head win over Noble Silk who was raised 2lb for coming second. On paper that puts them too close for comfort and it is too much of a guessing race for my liking. Wildomar does come out top rated but there is nothing in the form to prompt me into making him a selection.

Hi everyone, thanks for the invite and this is my first post.

Lovejoy, well done.

Single selections if you can call them on a regular basis is a fantastic skill to have. The best i have seen with single selections is Chesham,(you may know him from other forums) would be great if you was at the same level or higher

Out of interest, has Chesham received an invite it would be great to have him aboard.

Does the above post get me into the inner sanctum or do i have to make more post.

Hi Arkle, I am sure I have seen your posts on other/another forum, I have only started reading the vdw books today so still know nowt, but if you address your posts to bobajobber or do a search fo chesham I think he was invited but for the moment has unfortunately declined. However, there are still lots of knowledgeable people on here who I am sure you could have a meaningful discourse with, d wines dun and time for bed, nice to see you here.

Hi Arkle
Welcome onboard. Take a look over the Pegwell Bay thread and get ready for when we do the next live race. Bobajobber and Mtoto and a few of us are trying to put this part of VDW theory along with Erin into a race of choice. I realised when Bobba posted an example in tabloid form that my understanding of these teachings improved. I'm not saying I know any more but the bits I do know seem more understandable just for seeing a table with the data present.
Hopefully Chesham will join up sooner rather than later. :welcome:

Scar, one thing that is for sure, is when you have read the books (and you may read the books several times over), you will need to be someone who likes to play word games or games where there are hidden clues to look for. The clues may or may not be there, that will depend on how you view things.

If you think the books hold substance, you may then wish to investigate further with the form books. Good luck to you on your explorations.

Hi Dicko, i take it you mean the thread Selections Via Pegwell Bay. If i am looking in the correct area i can not see any examples in tabloid form. Perhaps the post has been deleted, i will take another look.
