The 100th race posted is a winning one. A winner at 7/4. 12 winning shortlists from the last 14. 70/100 overall. Its not quite 80% I'm looking for but a reasonable starting point for examining a race I'd say.
My first day on this excellent forum and I’ve attempted the Bowers method as it seems to give fair reports. Anybody have the best stats to put with it which my a better insight?

I've personally not found anything in particular yet, albeit I haven't had chance to delve too much into that research. It is just method to reduce the field for further study. There's been winners from the lowest to the highest rating on the list, favs and even 33/1 winners. You could use any form of ratings to establish a more solid contender from the shortlist whether it be speed or form ratings to add more confidence.

i have looked at this thread and i think have a system similar to your narrow field but i think even better strike rate but will it be profit who knows.
my three for this race you put up are.
hector master.
force de frap.
valirann gold.

Thanks, I enjoy trying to find different angles and as somebody suggested it’s a good base to start from. I’m playing with weight, Rpr, Or and forecast SP, mixing them up to see any difference, upto now there is little variation on different mixings but each time they all agree on the winner. Only just started so too early to judge but I think big priced winners will be rare.

13.05 Doncaster- two different mixing agree on The Fav SAGEBURG COUNTY just as an interest it does not have a best TS or RPR compared with others.

1st and a 3rd from the shortlist today. Nice bit of form winning with 13 from the last 15 and 71/101 overall.
That’s vey good indeed, is that just using weight and ? (Bowers) . Mine flopped but 2/4 placed, I’m sure it’s a way foward just need to find that extra positive to improve it.

I use the Official rating rather than weight and the forecast odds, combined makes up the Bower Rating.

I've not had a look yet but be interested to know whether the same races make the cut for me. How are you producing your shortlist? Is it similar basis to the Bower method?

All mentioned horses have credentials to make them good bets, I would add NURSE SUSAN 3.35 not through my calcs but from several podcasts I’ve listened today. I hope to do my own stat picks tomorrow.

6 to go at today. Mainly the AW though. Let's see how they fare today..

No not really anything to do with bower at all but its something i noticed on alot of past results over last few weeks checking it.
And it seems to cut it down to less horses that you give in each race in general as one of the things i noticed is very few win in double digit prices
so once i have maybe 4 or deff 5 max thats more than enough.
Any more than that i am by passing race but ideally hoping for about 3 in race and very few races you get one then there worth a look at for even putting together in multies but wont happen often .
like the race you have gave at hereford 11 55 i have that down to three horses.famoso, rockinastorm, maasai warrior.
And the 2 where i have only one are coastguard station 12 15 don and western zephyr 2 13 here.
