Do you think sports betting is a useless game?

Thinking about it, a steady avg 122% overround in the Hong Kong markets, which are not small. would mean there would be numerous vested interests who would not like to see that reduced due to a foreign betting exchange whose markets have much lower overrounds

they have class 5 races where horses rated lower than 20 have been known to win, every single class 5 has more prize money than the supreme novice hurdle. After they have paid the punters and the prize money they have around £4billion left over annually.
The whole UK racing industry begs for scraps off bookies and get less than one woman in Stoke per annum.

This guy can bet £millions but most of them won’t let me have a fiver on. The no lose model in perfect motion. Hilarious shit this from our friends the bookmakers. Already done in £5million with Ladbrokes.

He was a well known lunatic - from memory I think it was his father in laws money really - not totally sure about that but it’s something of that order -good club dragged down

Problem is all the do gooders will jump at these headlines - when in reality what the F has this to do with the average punter ? - the racing Post not doing its job once again it should be highlighting the iniquences of life not promoting the the grotesque

What it has to do with the average punter is they need to wake up and look at the evidence, if you are an addict who is likely to spunk £5 million, you are welcome to lose with complete impunity, if you are not a hopeless loser than they will monitor you until they decide you are not a desired customer and get rid of you. So it’s a simple fact is there is no future for the game relying on betting when there is no longer such a thing as betting because they won’t let you win even if you could.

Ok so I have now his wife’s parents owned the Wilkos stores - but it hard to understand ( for me a least ) why the post even runs the story - they should highlighting punters that have won - ie good bookies that except winners - that’s what advertising should be about

they would have to have some seriously good journalists to find a story about bookies that except winners, they wouldn’t be filling any column inches with that make believe.

I think we are at cross purposes here we are on the same side , what It needs is a factual headline

“ Bookmakers ordered to accept punters bets , or they will have there licence’s revoked “

Or we could go your way

“Lying cheating scum ordered to take bets and cease the false advertising of unobtainable products”

Surprised they haven’t been dragged a House of Commons enquiry by now for false advertising

Enjoyed how you nailed my way of putting it.😃

It's only a game of chance if you don't do your homework. Sports betting is about information and value. If you treat it as paid entertainment with a set budget, it's great. If you treat it as an easy get-rich-quick scheme, you’ll definitely find it 'useless' very quickly!
