Yeh Non-Runner No Bet is so much better, I know the odds are shorter, but not by that much, and having horses voided instead of losing bets entirely is miles better e.g. I had a 16/1 win recently, only in a doubles bet I had with 4 other horses (no singles!), none of the others came in, but because a meeting was abandoned 2 horses were voided and I got some money back anyway, not much like, but if you get little bits back from a bunch of NRNB bets it helps to fund your singles.
Yeh State Man is a great horse, I really like him, he always seems to turn up and never has a bad run. There is always (at least) one big shock result at the festival, so maybe State Man beating The Hill is going be this years shock, and the only way you'll get the big acca's to come in.
Lossiemouth is listed in the Champion Hurdle & Mares Hurdle, but will surely run in the Mares Hurdle where's she's 8/13f. The Mares Hurdle looks really competitive this year. She is a good horse Lossiemouth, but so is Ashroe Diamond. Marie's Rock has possibly just come back into form at the right time, Gala Marceua has beaten Lossiemouth, although, she was hampered, and hasn't been far behind on two other occasions, then there's one of my favourite horses, Love Envoi, who is usually quite consistent, plus Echoes in Rain, Magical Zoe and Brandy Love, very tough race - I'll be taking Lossiemouth on in the Mares Hurdle.
Queen Mother Champion Chase? Could Jonbon and El Fabiolo go at each other too hard, jump poorly and get done by Edwardstone, Boothill, Captain Guinness or Elixir de Nutz (who are all good jumpers on their day)? I doubt it, El Fabiolo beats Jonbon again, but you never know, this could be the shock race of the festival.
Ballyburn - is he going to run in the Supreme Novices Hurdle or the Baring Bingham Novices Hurdle (formerly Ballymore)? Probably the Supreme, but whichever race he runs in, he should win. I thought Sir Gino was the only horse that could beat him, and was going to be a 2m or 2m 5f max horse, but looks like he's registered in both the Triumph Hurdle 4/5f (2m) and the Boodles Juvenile Hurdle 7/1 2nd favourite. The Boodles is a 3m race, so maybe they haven't decided what his best trip is yet, but the odds suggest he's running the Triumph Hurdle (not sure why he's not taking Ballyburn on in the Supreme).
What about NAP's? What's your favourite bet(s) of the festival? From his form this year, WHITE RINO, 10/1 2nd favourite in the Pertemps for me, I can't see Icare Allen, Langer Dan, Chantry House etc. beating White Rino.
