Boredom bets.

I got the early pace totaaly wrong markfinn markfinn

Two totally separate races, with 4 chasing for the lead and 4 held up way off the pace, who all came through to take the first 4 positions.

I'm addicted to oppossing Osborne and Dixon, so the smug side of me thinks there will be another one of his over bet

Hi Doom - I was looking at something else earlier and remembered this post - these figs are from 2019 all handicaps CDEF finishing position <=8 Turf and AW - over bet trainers 1612456047060.png

The racing at newc looks really tight but trying a trixie for a bit of value.

6.00 OUTRAGE and Be Proud are very closely matched from 21st jan over c/d st/slow and with outraged having to run off a 4lb higher mark 84 fir his ling win but with only 5 runners this might be a little tactical and i feel outrage could have the better turn of foot and has i say could be value at 11/2.

6.30 NICK VEDDER already said something about this horse and he might need a strong pace to aim at and on a good day i thing 5/1 is fair enough.

7.30 BOBBY JOE LEG drawn in 7 could be able to dominate the race towards the rail and his main market rival Dramatista might prefer an all out gallop but again it's all very tight and 7/4 you really call it value unless it wins.

Not a lot of confidence but enough there to watch the racing with a bit of added interest.

Not looked properly, but done Stopnsearch - 15:10 Lin. This looks a bit easier than last time when he went close, but 2lb higher now, so not much of a price at 3/1 really; I expect it might trade higher tomorrow. Only 1/2pt.

PP money back (as a Free Bet) if 2nd, 3rd or 4th. Wish I'd seen that first:(.

So, we have 9/4 and 5/2 at the front of the market, then three between 6/1 and 8/1. The three placed horses are bound to come from those 5 aren't they? Well, no, when does it ever work like that! So I've had 1/10th pt on Bealach to place at 11/2, a switcher from Johnson Houghton to Moore, he showed improved form when 2nd in two AW races before making the switch.

I quite like the pace he showed at the end of the first of those races (Ling) to close on the Crisford winner, albeit that was 12f and tomorrow's race is 10f; it showed he has the pace for the short Ling straight. He recorded a 73 RPR and runs off 64 tomorrow. No surprise he was a well beaten last of 6 on debut for Moore, but improved form tomorrow wouldn't surprise me either.

I see Simon Rowland has gone for STOPNSEARCH but he is too closey matched with CONVERTIBLE for me to separate, as far as i can see the handicapper knows all of the other except AMSBY who on debut had STOPNSEARCH behind before running a good second behind GROUP ONE POWER ( rated 82 now ) 8f ling, future winners further back so that one piece of form might be the best on offer here imo, however his later run at kempton where he was a well beaten 6th needs to be forgiven. My best effort would be to say the horse was allowed to go too fast at the front end and rather wide, I could say more but the truth is it was a poor run and so needs excusing.
Conclusion....AMSBY is making his hdc debut off 69 and i'm easily fooled by them but at 11/1 and drifting might represent value.
good luck.

So i have and not for the first time, I recall inviting hugh to have a look at the thread "Compiling speed figures" because he was discussing with others the same subject matter as were people on that thread, as far as i know he hasn't been back since.

ps... Encouraging to see you have Mick Fitz is on your side with Stopnsearch ?

3.45 ling SAVE THE SPIRIT
Without going into too much detail this horse ran a good race finishing 2nd behind THE HULK having won a 2 horse race over c/d the time before, put into a cl4 over 7f wolves for his hdc debut he faded in the straight. O'meara had a winner the other day and a place at meydan so might be a good time to catch his horses coming back to form.

No good being on the inside off the turn at Lingers. The horses seem to lose momentum as they've had to slow down more for the tight turn compared to those coming a little wider. The horse also used quite a bit of petrol trying to maintain pos from stall 2.

Edit: Although watching the start again, Moore did pretty much the same (after the start) on the winner; coming 4 wide made the difference.
