Essentially a very weak race so it's always worth looking at the outsiders of which there are three.Thawry,Treaty Of Dingle and Faramman.I would also have made Contingency Fee the favourite over Rectory Road.
Treaty Of Dingle has just run two stinkers,but this one needs further(ideally further than today).(22/1)
Thawry's most recent run was impressive but recent runs can take a toll(3 days ago) or have the horse fighting fit.Toss of a coin.(EP 12/1)
Faramman.Gosden got rid of Faramman after two promising runs and hasn't done as good for new trainer.A return to original form and at this distance might spring a suprise.(50/1)

Hi Chesham,
Historically I have had rich pickings(over long term) with claimers.And my biggest hit back in the day were sellers(ignoring some infamous trainer coups that I managed to get wind of) and maidens(its all in the breeding)
The big field handicaps are also good for outsiders.
I dont know if the games changed much since I was at it a couple of decades back,certainly a lot more racing about(and trainers and jocks)

The Blog is separate invite only part of the Forum and was started in 2016. Now and again we invite a limited number of members to join. Most members on the Blog run their own threads and that makes it into a sort of Daily Magazine, Those who produce their own speed figures share their thoughts on one Thread, especially with regards Rail Movements and going allowances. Others may start a project and work collaboratively on that project. Race analysis from a different angle is common.

This will give you an idea of how much goes on with the Blog today

I think it might be a good idea to open the blog up ( for a short period) to everybody including newbies in the hope that it might act as a kind of an incentive to bring something more to the forum as a whole. Obviously there is a wealth of knowledge on the blog and it will take new members some time before they can attain the same sort of collective endeavour that even with this one page alone stands as a fine example of what like minded people can achieve together, very well done everybody.

We base that on the Interactions and contributions that we observe on the Inmer Sanctum and OS Parts of the Forum.

The last member to join the Blog only became a member of this Forum in December 2020, so Newbies to the Forum are not at a disadvantage with regards membership.

We look for positive interactions and quality of posts when looking who will be invited. Usually we have had positive interactions with the members we invite.

Nothing stopping you having your own Invite Only Blog, that’s what we did back in 2016. Keeping a Blog Vibrant is down to the Members who contribute to it day in a day out . Also keeping a Blog with no arguments between members also what make it successful. Being supportive to others contributions and ideas is also an important factor.

We don’t do the trouser leg thing anymore since mick introduced The Bushtucker Trial. Personally I thought @micks Bush Tucker Trial which involved having to eat the Testicles from Gelded Members was a little over the top. We have since toned it down a little

The Blog Is a Private Blog and invite Only

Formtheory has his own Invite Only Blog although ceased being active. Bobajobber also had his own Invite Only Blog Also ceased being active.
The Blog Run by mlmrob , mick and myself is the only active Invite Blog still going from strength to strength. We are not interested how many posts anyone has made and there will never be an automatic entry.

We decide who is invited just as ArkRoyal and dave58 decide who is invited to the Inner Sanctum.

The reason the The Blog works so well is that we don’t have loads of members and that seems to work out very well, why would we want to change something that has worked well for nearly 5 years.

The Blog contains no racing holy grails but neither any lurkers ( which is what i think you might mean by Stalkers ). One of the reasons it was started was down to some members ( myself included ) becoming disillusioned with the number of lurkers in the IS, a part of the forum where you would not expect to see this.

There is nothing secretive or elitist and any member can earn an invite via the ways well described by Chesham above. I have done plenty of posting on racing forums over the years and my findings are that the IS Blog is the very best place available to share your racing thoughts and experiences with like minded people. But its also worth remembering that all of its members came from the OS and IS sections of the forum.
