I feel it is easy enough to believe there's a good case to be made for COMPLETELY RANDOM, staying on well goodwood 6f after not the best passage but then again probably drawn on the best side.
The average OR of the first 8 finishers in that stewards cup were between 96 to 104 so av 100, todays Average is 93, top 2 helping to keep it that high so in many ways CR is dropping in class today.
Slight negative is he's gone up to 94 for that run which doesn't help of course and i know they've run him 3 times over 7f but i'm suspcious whether he wants further than 6f, held up off a strong pace (plenty of pace today)
So a few niggly doubts matched by a market drift, out to 5/1

ASUKA is a bit of a dark horse for me, market keeps finding him (same again today) and overcame a troubled run at thirsk and then went to chester 7.5f (good to soft) and was a little keen early, came there towards final furlong to have every chance but to my eye didn't truly stay, down a furlong today 6.5f which strikes me the correct distance for him.

Conclusion...don't know.

There is a lot of love around for ASUKA and I can see why, not entirely sure how the Chester form over 7.5F LTO will translate to Donny over 6.5F today, I have my doubts.
Completely Random is top rated for me and this is a drop in quality of opposition today, he runs well but just doesn't win as often as he should and finds a way to lose also, has a nasty habit of being slow away from the stalls, which may not be too much of an issue today as I don't see an abundance of early speed in this race. What speed there is comes from Stalls 1-2-3 on my own chart anyway.



I'm going to take a chance on LAKERS in this race as my selection, I thought LTO at Goodwood was an encouraging run after 4 months off, needs to find a little improvement today but, hopefully will be a bit fitter for the run 2 weeks ago and go well.
