Disappointing doesn't describe today's action. Some pi$$ poor rides didn't help either but left me in a break even situation regards the P/L for the past couple of days, which ain't too bad I guess.

Too busy with life stuff yesterday which was a shame given the quality on offer but just got back to the desk and should be able to run today's before they go to post.

Snookered by the ground conditions today with Hamilton, Salisbury and Sligo all having the word 'soft' somewhere in the going description, so I'm out as too many times have I been stitched up by misleading going forecasts. As for Newmarket I only had the one bet and that is Cynosure. I had it up for >=5.0 but I have since noticed that it's been 'Hugh Taylored' and is well below those odds at the mo' (5/2) and I couldn't find the confidence to back it even if it were to make 5.0 now.

Hugh Taylor's bet yesterday drifted back out to 4.46 which suited me because I had it at a minimum 5.0+ but in the end didn't even place. So got a result there. Missed out on a couple of winners overall but not much in the way of profit with Sub Thirteen being the best of them at 5.66 and Catherine Chroi @ 2.34. So no real damage done by sitting out the soft ground courses which was a relief TBH.

Decided to take the day off yesterday as bank holiday racing never seems to be good for me. Nothing at all for today at Navan and I haven't done the new THIAH jumps version yet. Couldn't believe it when I went to ATR and found four jumps meetings for today and no flat on the best day weather wise we've had so far this year. The BHA needs to wake up and smell the coffee I'm thinking.

Off with a winner is encouraging. Here are some more....

Just couldn't do a damn thing yesterday. Friday was tough but I managed to get through, but yesterday.... forget it. My consort had this about a week ago and I laughed at her but I wasn't laughing yesterday. The symptoms were similar to when I was given the Pfizer covid vaccine only much worse. Had the Astrozeneca one the first two times with no effect whatsoever but the Pfizer one was $hit. So $hit that I refused it last September when I was called for a booster. Anyway, was back on the desktop last night because she wanted to watch the Eurotrash song contest. She claims it's not for the music but the ridiculously camp clowns they have on there she finds entertaining. Couldn't get my head around the racing yesterday morning feeling knackered and too much brain fog but had a play last night with what I call the 'Q' bets. These Q bets originated from routines that I didn't really understand, they just seemed to work so I just left them on with an I'll figure them out one day if they keep producing a profit. Now there's only three left that have consistently come up with the goods but because I don't fully understand the mechanisms in play I only place small stakes. I thought I'd try over laying the criteria with THIAH in an experiment just to see. The first one didn't really appear to make much difference in terms of SR and ROI although the number of bets dropped a little. The second one comparatively had a profound effect with just about every metric you can test being altered, in some cases dramatically, but none of them were detrimental to the overall performance so In the true spirit of the thread I'm going with it!! :D

So..... haven't a clue as to how this will all work out but that just makes it more interesting. After I finished I realised that I hadn't applied the odds filter but as it was working better than the original without it I decided to just leave it as is on the basis of it it ain't broke why try to fix it, although I do acknowledge that it's less work for me too, so nothing to dislike about that. Today...

Here 3.35 What's Da Story
Wind 4.30 Let's Get 'Em
Wind 5.00 Storm Call
Rosc' 5.55 May Night
Wind; 8.15 Recon' Mission

Seems to be picking up proportionately more Fav's than the figures would suggest but could be just because it's not been applied to many decent quality races yet. We'll see.

Just been taking another look but nothing from me for this afternoon at all. One to night for Killarney though. Yesterday was an improvemnet with a Win for Storm call and a couple of 2nds from the rest but nothing to get too excited about.

Kill' 7.20 Kodiac Prince.

Yesterday's only bet (KP) came 3rd so still racking the places up keeps me hopeful. Nothing for the thread till late afternoon and evening and one or two of them are likely to go off too short so back later.

Boola Boss was the only star on the day last time I posted with a win @ 6.8 . Today....
Yar 3.00 Expert Witness
Ayr 3.50 Kelpie Grey
Yar 4.30 Red Maids
Ayr 5.30 Braes Of Doune
Sou 5.40 Scrum Diddly
Sou 6.10 In This World
Sou 8.40 Kapamazov

Only the one win from Wednesday came from Scrum Diddly at Southwell, racking up four close 2nds from the rest all of which were less than a length with two of them less than a head. This racing without fences will never catch on :D. So it's over to Hereford for me tonight and b0110x to the flat at least for now.
