Retriever's AW selections

No AW meetings today.

It's been nearly a week since the last selection but this can be expected in the latter half of the three months. Below shows the number of bets from 2008 to 2022. December has very few in comparison but a higher strike rate, although this year we are actually beating the 23-25% for Oct/Nov.

Sorry guys. This horse is no longer showing as a qualifier this morning.
HRB must update the stats and figures ( trainer strike-rates, etc. ) overnight.
I won't be counting this one - win or lose. I've still had the bet mind.

It's a bit odd really. I have a rule for the Trainer ( 30 days s/r >10% ). His strike rate is 10.2% so it's obviously down to the V4 System builder rounding down ( error? ) looking at different info for different parts of the site. - although I would have thought it would qualify at 10%. When I switch it to 9%+ it becomes a qualifier.

A different take on the above but in some ways a worse difference. As a long term user of RI i have sometimes spotted mistakes in the basic information but when i used to contact them with these examples invariably they would blame the RP who supply the data and recently another member who contacted the RP about there own mistake(s) was told " computer error. " ?

With huge amounts of daily data involved i try to be understanding but you only need to find these mistakes a few times to then start wondering how many have i missed and actually bet off. ? It is rather ironic that for many years prior to going electronic i used the paper form book versions and do not recall ever noting the above. Perhaps they employed proper copy readers. ?

There is also plenty of basic info conflict between sources with one example being the draw stats. When i compare the RI ones with as one example the ATR version there is often conflict which is not helpful when we are using these " Facts " to make our own decisions. ! It is hard enough to make the correct calls in the first place but attempting to do so off inaccurate data certainly adds to the problem. !

I noticed this week HRB give SP odds to walk over horses for some strange reason .

Yes mick We need to keep a little pot of salt alongside the swear box and apply a pinch here and there, eh!

The best we can do is trust our own judgement and try to research any angle we wish to apply as logically as possible.
Draw stats is one area I've put in plenty of hours in the past but we are always going to be limited by the available data.

Hopefully, it's swings and roundabouts in the long-run with our winners and losers, and not too much harm done.
