my placepot

jammy54 jammy54 , I have had some success using this wheel

you need to find two bankers and I have also modified it by placing your picks in different positions.

firstly number your picks 1,2,3 and fill out the ticket as above
then number them 2,3,1 and fill in again as above
and finally 3,1,2 and fill in again as above. the 3 horses you pick out remain the same but they are ordered in different places on the ticket.
I hope that makes sense but I find it gives you greater cover as go through the meeting.
I play this on Tote Ireland because they allow you to play one line to the minimum stake of 10 pence or .13 of a euro if you like . just takes a bit of time to tick all those boxes !!

jammy54 jammy54 ,I used to do a lot of placepot betting, now I do them very infrequently,i think the link that Chesham Chesham added in the above post is very helpful,it's also worth bearing in mind that a lot of people who do the placepot don't put a great deal of effort into it,consequently a large percentage of runners included will be horses near the top of the racecard for each race, irrespective of the chance they may have of placing, of course for handicaps that means a lot of recreational "placepotters" will be on horses with a very good chance of placing!!,just a thought.
Good luck.nicksar.

nice article Chesham Chesham , thanks for posting it up. it is heartening to read Mr Rowlands does not think the Placepot is a mugs bet altogether. imagine if we were allowed to bet into those Hong Kong pools , A Scoop 6 rollover of proportions on a daily basis !
betting late is a good rule . Opposing a Nov Hurdle Fav , esp first race up when there is only 7 running due to a non runner , is more likely to succeed and sets the pot up nicely. like all types of betting it is hard to succeed but I like the fact that you are competing against fellow punters , a large amount who only view the bet as recreational and not against the bookies who can manipulate the market to suit themselves.

If you are able to view the Parade Ring and watch them going down before the First Race on a card may give you an edge if you can take out the Favourite because of something that you have seen. Then put your Place Pot in
