my placepot

2 years ago i went from jedburgh to wolverhampton for saturday night racing. it was a great time. however s. walker was on the certainty in the first race, all over the placepot. but just like tonight he was not placed !.

I like to do a placepot myself @ big meetings or the scoop 6 most weekends.
I pick 2 bankers and 3 from each of the other 4 races but perm those runners (12) into 9 lines.
3 per race in in the other 4 races would equate to 81 lines.
but by perming I reduce the cost to 9 lines.
If I get 1 out of each of the other 4 races I am guaranteed 5 correct on 1 line (if both bankers win) with @ 33% (2/1)chance of all 6
with a reduction in cost of around 88.9 % allowing me to back each line @ £1 rather than 0.11p
I will do Doncaster today as an example, Hope the snip below is self explanatory .

Here you can see my Banker races are the 2.30 (no 8 Lou Vert) and 4.40 (no 2 Ballycrystal)
1 point per line 9 staked.

interesting post valiant thor valiant thor . I do the pot a lot and it all comes down to fielding against the Obvious Favs if you want a decent pickup from a small stake.
thanks for posting up your perm , I have a piece of software which throws up lots of perms but I got to the point where I was throwing quite a large stake at these perm combinations and because of the Full Perm reductions that keeps the stake down often you would get to the last leg or 2 with only 1 runner going for you.
I think a full perm of 81 lines in your example would obviously land the pot more often but I guess you would prefer to land the pot less often but to a full £1 dividend.

@valiant thor thanks for the example. interesting idea to keep stakes higher, as i often increase lines and reduce stake to keep within the wifes purse strings, as we have to do. ;) hope we all go well at doncaster today.

Hi Simon
That is the idea behind it, theoretically both should end up winning around the same in the long run.
But I personally like the full slice of the cake so to speak rather than the crumbs
good luck

If you did the scoop six (what I normally use this perm for ) you would have to play £2 min a line wouldnt you ?
I may be wrong but I didn't think you were allowed to dilute from the minimum £2 stake, if that were the case you are excluding yourself from the big pots.
For 81 lines it would cost £164
where my perm would cost £18
