Well done @Lucky Lucky Man just passing the time with the horses then ;););) :handgestures-thumbup::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Nige
Haha you fucker Nige! :)
But no, I'll be back with the gees, suppose footie coming back has been timed well. But generally I back footie and horses in a non-exclusive manner.
Sometimes a winning run on one sport can fund the other but then it can soon switch the other way round lol :)
Last year I was 5 figures up in both gees and footie so I'd love to do that again this time out! (Work to be done on the racecourse of course but doable!)

Thanks for your opinions re. Laying the Arse tomorrow :)
But like Tony says, I won't be laying em!
Not a chance! It's only £900 quid I would only look at laying at good four figure + monies, and if I was more desperate for cash at that time.

Also, I will get a fifty free bet should the worst happen :(

And seeing as the four today have romped home for me, if you now take them out of the equation I now have a £50 stake on Arsenal to beat the hammers at what, 18/1?! How many people wouldn't slam a fifty on that? Even if that was way above their own usual stakes? With the £50 back as a lose no bet basis?

So laying not for me on this one, I had every faith that Arsenal were one of this weekends "Bankers" and nothing has changed in my mind when looking towards that game.

Of course it will be a major pisser if they don't win, but I'm all about the big wins, rightly or wrongly :( :)

you are indeed a lucky lucky man if £900 is neither here nor there for you, but fair play to you for keeping the faith in your initial selection

your a true gambler and if your making it pay then the betting gods must like you too

personally, im trying to do it the boring way, slow but steady :violin:

Morning mate, I'm sorry I maybe should of worded that differently. I would hate to sound as though I was being ungrateful or dismissive of winning £900! :(

I genuinely value the £ as much as the next man should, and just because I bet maybe bigger stakes than most it doesn't make me a better punter, or a better man!

I used to do £1-2 accas as most people did/do, guess just over the years I fine tuned what I did with experience and become more succesful, and as that happened I have increased my stakes. IMO that is the only way to (try) win money.
I.e. If a bettor had say a tenner treble every Saturday, at general odds of say 5/1 and he wins at least 3 times every ten bets and continues this run quite consistently it makes absolute sense to increase stakes. And keep increasing, get a decent strike rate, increase the stakes increase the bank! That's how I see it anyways.

But the other thing is to keep the faith! You only have to take a peek at my horse racing thread mate. That, frankly, has been an absolute disaster! But believe me I have no doubt in my mind at all that I won't be up over a year, either on both horses and footie or one sport putting me in profit and covering the other.

Bloody ell, I sound the fuckin betting guru here! :( lol :)
Guess I just wanted you (and others) to know I respect money, I'm not a millionaire or anything like that, and that I'm (very) far from being an amazing punter :) take care and good luck!

Terry didn't net for Chelsea so that bet lost £20 so the updated scores are now...

Betting day 2
Total losses -£220

Had a juicy goals bet today, could give me a run for my money, and maybe even provide a smidge of cover on the Arsenal too ;)

Bet Victor £25 acca (free bet if one wrong) on bothsidestoscore at Arsenal, Stoke, Newcastle, Preston and Lyon.

Just realised I haven't been posting the betting slips! I will try to do so if I remember from now on, if anyone wants to see any of the slips from the first two days please ask and I shall sort :)

Sunday slip part one

Thanks for the explanation @Lucky Lucky Man it makes sense to build up your stakes in the way that you've done it, i guess that's why its better to tip points rather than £'s so people can stake what they are comfortable with.
I do like your style and attitude though, always been a pint half full bloke myself

I'm confused , how can you have an each way bet on a player to score first , he either scores the first goal or he doesn't.
Unless its 2 separate bets first goal or any time ?

I think that's it, tractorboy tractorboy - half on anytime goalscorer, half on first goalscorer.
I do a similar thing each season with the top goalscorers but to split-stakes (not yet though , like the horses i wait until the season settles down a bit)

Haha! You couldn't make it up!! Arsenal at 2/7 fook the bet up! Unreal! :(

But what I want to know is why didn't some of you fuckers advise me to lay it off a bit? Wankers! ;)

Oh well, nothing can change the result, all part of this sick game Haha ;)

Betting day 3
Total losses -£245

I will now at least have a free £50 bet c/o Paddy Power, let's hope I can get something from that then!
