Jack the Russell
Yearling
Hi, I wonder if anyone can a shine light on this subject for me please,
The more interested I get in horse racing, making systems/studying form, watching horse racing, and so on, the more I begin to learn how things work in the horse racing industry, and some things that I have learned dont seem 100% ethical, although I understand certain things have to happen to keep the wheels turning,
I have no intention to embarrass anyone, just interested in how it works
When I am making systems and studying form, especially for handicaps, I like to match jockeys up with trainers, and after reading form and I think the horse has a fair chance at the price, like most people I would imagine, would check the jockey/trainer combo among other things, and like most of you that look at and make systems will already know this can be checked on a full scale, as in not just one jockey/ trainer combo, but all combo's, and its not hard to find that sometimes certain jockeys are brought in when the horse has a good chance at the weights, and sometimes different jockeys are brought in when they have very little chance,
So firstly I was just wondering if this kind of thing is just generaly accepted, or are there rules to try to stop it going to the extreme? and could anyone give me a little advice, if the wrong jockey is brought in and this happens in one of your systems when you are using it live, would you go ahead with your qualifer or would it be a no bet? thanks.
