Question..........Has there been an Epsom derby winner who never ran as a two yr old
Ive tried reseaching but without success.
Off the top of my head, Commander In Chief I think made his debut about 6 weeks before winning the Derby.
But I haven’t checked this out as watching snooker.

Your Correct, HRB did not have the 1996 season and BTD did win on debut s a 2 y-o

That leaves just Ruler Of The World as a Stat buster
Gonna be honest I only remembered Commander In Chief , I thought Ruler Of The World won the Grand National !! , that one completely passed me by I can’t even remember the horse.

Thankyou all..........Might have small wager on Drumroll
If it’s for the Derby I don’t think it will get the distance

Saxon Warrior out of the same Dam and Sire won 4/4 over 1 mile but failed over further. Drumroll might further if not aimed too high like Saxon Warrior. He is certainly certainly worth looking at over. Mile, as Saxon Warrior won 2 Group one and a Group 2 over that Distance

yeah im put off Auguste Rodin for same reason with Rhodedendrom as dam never won further than a mile
I think Auguste Rodin will get further than 1 mile as he has already won on Heavy as a 2 y-o over a mile and the Nicks have three Winners over at least 12 f
The most Notable being Snowfall who won the Irish Oakes and Yorkshire Oaks

Now I know why I got such a big price on Ruler of the World!
The first Derby after they'd flattened the Lonsdale. I was right by the rail on the Hill (side), and saw Ryan flash by, but, then had to spin round to look at the big screen to see if he'd won!
Previously, viewing used to be good, right in the front corner of the Lonsdale next to the fanfare men. I used to queue up at the gate from 7.45 in the morning, to try to get in with the bookies.
A long day, but, I used to get a good view.

Everything changes. :)

Auguste Rodin won the Futurity Stakes

4 Winners of the 2000Gns came from that race
5 winners of The Dante came from that race
