Footsteps AW Speed Ratings

S Scott Rose I did mention earlier in the thread that I dont have time to compile my own ratings and Standard times. What I have done is taken a set of ratings which I subscribe to and I then adjust to suit my own requirements based on the conditions of todays race. I formulat a base rating based on various factors such as a horses last 3 runs etc and I then take various factors and adjust this rating so if the horse is suited by the distance the rating is increased if its not suited the rating will reduce same for track and other factors until I end up with a rating that is line with todays race condtions. Its different but seems to be producing decent enough results. Hope that makes sense
 
footstepsinthesand footstepsinthesand - I for one have been impressed with your recent work - Never easy rating the whole card and most experts will not rate below a certain class so to have had the success that you have had is great - unfortunately we cannot expect that every day , some days the quality of racing is just not worth the effort. I thought yesterday was poor the one stand out race so competitive that on paper any one from four should have won - My experience shows me that what I do is suited to Tuesday to Friday these have been the most fruitful days but there is no guarantee - bit like waiting for buses they can all come at once or not at all - but at least with a little foresight I can have the odd day of.
 
Thanks markfinn markfinn still early days for me with this I did remove the maiden races last week as just not enough info to generate a reasonable rating but hopefully I will start to see patterns and areas that I can focus on. To be honest this is a great place to be part of and I am just getting my head around the amount of information on the site it will take a while to soak it all up but some very useful ideas that may help me improve what I am trying to do
