Footsteps AW Speed Ratings

Very good. Inform us on a few aspects.
Are you using your own standard times? How are you compiling your figures.
Not asking any secrets, but certainly intrigued...

Cheers

thanks S Scott Rose unfortunately I dont have time to compile my own actual speed figures I did in the past but working full time just does not give me the spare time to do this so instead I use a set of ratings which I then adjust myself using calculations in Excel. The adjustments are based on criteria surrounding todays race weighted based on factors I feel are most important ie distance and recent form etc. The plan was to see how they went and tweak along the way but the way the results are going at present I dont think I will tamper with it for the time being

footstepsinthesand footstepsinthesand thanks for getting back to me.
Some really impressive figures there, lets hope its not a lucky run!. You said you don't have time to compile your own standard times... Maybe this will help. Check out the link...

No Links Please

This app. you could for example go. Lets say:
Kempton AW track- 1st Jan 2012 to 10 Feb 2016... and it will provide every single race time- give in minutes and seconds and converted to total seconds.
You could have all race times recorded in one file in about an hour- Wouldn't take you long to compile your own figures then.
Or you could compile every race track over last 20 years into 1 file. The clever thing with this is you can take out whatever you want.
You want the 1m-0-70- Fillies-4yo+10 runners or more- You can have the list come up up instantly- Click on total seconds dropdown- Order shortest to longest.

This could mean you can create your own standard times- In no time and you can continuously update whenever you like

S Scott Rose I think the link has been removed but thanks anyway it would be good to compile my own again if the process could be done quickly. The other problem I had when I did compile my own ratings was storing the ratings and then pulling them back when I needed them I can get around some basic excel calculations etc but thats about it. I used to subscribe to Raceform interactive just so I could store my ratings as that software allowed me to review the ratings easily but I found I wasnt really using it for anything other than my ratings so it was an expensive way of doing things. Ive tried the racing post which also allows you to put in your own rating but cannot seem to get them to show up in an easy to view way so for the time being im happy to continue the way things are. Its too early to tell if the results will continue I hope it isnt just a lucky run but we will see over the next month or two but thanks for your advice
