.... looking at some of those games there looks to be decent opportunities for a worthwhile acca. Will have a closer look at the stats and see if there is an available bet to be made. Will be back after a study period. ;)

..... it's that time again to unfold the elo ratings which obviously have just been updated after the weekend's matches. The contest last week between Elo and Paul Steele Ratings was a tough affair and both sets recorded 8 correct from the 10 matches so no top dog this week. Here are the Elo ratings as recorded on the Elo site tonight:-
ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE.
Bournemouth 1706 v Manchester U 1834 -128 2
Arsenal 1873 v Wolverhampton W 1746 127 1
Aston V 1643 v Liverpool 2053 -410 2
Brighton & H A 1651 v Norwich C 1615 36 X
Manchester C 2036 v Southampton T 1648 383 1
Sheffield U 1662 v Burnley 1695 -33 X
West Ham U 1732 v Newcastle U 1701 31 X
Watford 1655 v Chelsea 1895 -240 2
Crystal P 1758 v Leicester C -42 X2
Everton 1728 v Tottenham H 1840 -112 2

Looks to be some close encounters there this week. Brighton v Norwich, Sheffield U v Burnley, West Ham U v Newcastle U and Crystal P v Leicester C all have that drawish look about them. Anyway time will tell!

Colt
just been waiting of the Elo website updating, so here are this weekend's ratings:-
ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE.
Norwich C 1615 v Watford 1655 -40 X
Chelsea 1895 v Crystal P 1758 137 1
Burnley 1695 v West Ham U 1732 -37 X
Newcastle U 1701 v Bournemouth 1706 -5 X
Southampton T 1648 v Everton 1728 -80 2
Tottenham H 1840 v Sheffield U 1662 188 1
Leicester C 1800 v Arsenal 1873 -73 2
Manchester U 1834 v Brighton & H A 1651 183 1
Wolverhampton W 1746 v Aston V 1643 103 1
Liverpool 2053 v Manchester C 2031 22 X

Lots of close looking matches there but the notable thing this coming week is that there are 7 ratings which completely disagree with the Paul Steele Ratings so there could be a big win for either one. Also it is pride of place this week to the Paul Steele Ratings which won overall against the Elo by 7 wins to 4 wins so the Paul Steele ratings are declared as outright winners for the weekend just gone.

Colt
..... As it is the International break this weekend I have put forward the Elo Ratings today so that they are done and dusted and ready for action around about the 28th November:-
ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE.
West Ham U 1708 v Tottenham H 1839 -131 2
Arsenal 1849 v Southampton T 1639 210 1
Bournemouth 1708 v Wolverhampton W 1755 -47 X

So just to recap, these are for the period around the 28th November.
The competition for top dog Elo Ratings v Paul Steel Power Ratings was a tie this week Neither side managing to get the edge. So it ended as 4-4. So all to play for this coming two weeks.

Colt
... .seem to have got the wrong date from somewhere. All these ratings are for this weekend around the 23rd, so we are all geared up for action after this crappy International Break. ;)

Colt
.... Here are the Elo Ratings for this weekend 30th November:-
ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE.
Newcastle U 1717 v Manchester C 2017 -300 2
Burnley 1694 v Crystal P 1740 -46 X
Chelsea 1900 v West Ham U 1708 192 1
Liverpool 2062 v Brighton & H A 1653 409 1
Tottenham H 1839 v Bournemouth 1708 131 1
Southampton T 1639 v Watford 1662 -23 X
Norwich C 1594 v Arsenal 1849 -255 2
Wolverhampton W 1755 v Sheffield U 1682 73 1
Leicester C 1822 v Everton 1736 86 1
Manchester U 1828 v Aston V 1637 191 1

In the competition between Elo Ratings and Paul Steele Power Ratings in a clash of the Titans. It was a no contest last week as the Paul Steele Ratings romped home by a massive 8/10 (80%) to Elo 4/10 (40%) which is quite impressive. This week we have eight predictions exactly the same for both of the ratings, so there should not be a lot of difference around. ;)

@ArkRoyal .... many thanks for popping in and obviously your interest in laying out a comparison from another Elo site. The actual ratings are different but it is interesting to discover that the predictions which arise from those ratings are exactly the same as the outcome from the site which I have used.Which actually provides a true comparison having been compiled by two ;) very different bodies. I don't know whether you read the Paul Steele Ratings thread which also provides a comparison between the Power Ratings set out in Paul Steele's book and these Elo ratings, but the former absolutely hammered Elo by 8/10 to 4/10.

Colt
..... These are the Elo Ratings for 3rd-5th November only:-
ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE.
Crystal P 1746 v BOURNEMOUTH 1692 54 1
Burnley 1693 v Manchester C 2004 311 2
Chelsea 1878 v Aston V 1651 227 1
Leicester C 1830 v Watford 1636 194 1
Manchester U 1819 v Tottenham H 1849 -30 X
Southampton T 1648 v Norwich C 1613 35 X
Wolverhampton W 1756 v West Ham U 1711 45 X
Liverpool 2053 v Everton 1710 343 1
Sheffield U 1682 v Newcastle U 1707 -25 X
Arsenal 1835 v Brighton & H A 1641 194 1

In the weekly fight for top dog in the ratings, the Paul Steele Power Ratings won once again but by a very fine margin 4-3 in what turned out to be a strange week for overall results in the EPL. The weekend's ratings will follow these after the results of these matches are to hand. As a matter of further interest the ratings displayed above by Ark Royal last week tied with the Elo ratings 3-3. ;)

Delboy99

Colt
..... so it looks like Ark Royal is up once again for the challenge v Elo Club Ratings, let's see how they go this week eh!

Delboy99

Colt
..... OK fresh from the midweek matches here are this week's Elo Ratings:-
Everton 1699 v Chelsea 1871 -72 2
Bournemouth 1678 v Liverpool 2046 -368 2
Tottenham H 1832 v Burnley 1679 153 1
Watford 1623 v Crystal P 1743 -120 2
Manchester C 2000 v Manchester U 1803 197 1
Aston V 1640 v Leicester C 1825 -185 2
Newcastle U 1711 v Southampton T 1645 66 1
Norwich C 1598 v Sheffield U 1660 -62 2
Brighton & H A 1646 v Wolverhampton W 1753 -107 2
West Ham U 1695 v Arsenal 1800 -105 2

Last week's contest between Elo and Paul Steel Ratings was handsomely won by Paul Steele Ratings 8/10 to 5/10 with only two errors out of the ten predictions for an excellent 80%. Ark Royal's ratings also beat Elo by 6-5 so well done there too! Strangely there are no draws predicted this weekend. ;)
