C'mon Leeds!

So Leeds are safe, but will have a big say on whom will get relegated. Leeds owe Spurs for getting us relegated a couple of years ago, so karma may have a say in tonights result.

Also, Spurs scraped past a poor Wolves side and a depleted Aston Villa side, Leeds will be a different test tonight. A few players will also want to lay a late claim for a World Cup call up on Friday 22nd May.

On the numbers, the form favours Leeds, but the live odds odds take into account a must win game for Spurs. This creates value in my eyes. (Draw/Leeds)

Totally agree, mate.

I didn't do a match report tonight, as this game is definitely for who wants it the most.

You forgot to mention as a football club Tottenham Hotspur lack investment and therefore the best football team has been produced.
Thankfully there are currently 3 teams below Tottenham, can West Ham get at least a win from their last 2 games. West Ham's last 2 games look easier then the last 2 matches they have to play. Unless of course Tottenham have turned a corner.

that's not much to look forward to and yet a reality for the vast majority.

That's Premier League reality, sadly. Those with the financial clout will always sit towards the top while the rest of us will make up the numbers. That's why it was so pleasing to see Leicester top the pile and look where they are now. In so many ways the PL is not a level playing field. Today's top level football is not an easy watch. Leeds have done well and punched above their weight this season, let's just hope it continues especially for the fantastic fan base.

Well, that was a fortunate point and still not totally convinced it was a penalty. At least it keeps the relegation scrap alive and gotta praise Ampadou for his courageous/crazy attempt at a header while the opponent was mid-overhead kick.

I think we won a few hammers fans over too, judging by some of the match reaction videos on social media, for not doing a 'Villa' last night. As for the crazy amount of stoppage time, well it wouldn't be a Leeds game without the ref bunging loads on would it.

M Monty , I agree that Leeds were punching a bit this season and, as I have mentioned before, were helped by many teams that underperformed throughout. I still think Farke should be replaced by a 'next level' manager for next season. Nothing personal, It would be a serious and correct business move by the club.

That’s a fair assessment, Leodis. I wouldn’t want to endure another season of Farke ball which has often been a tedious watch. It would be interesting to see if/when he’s being replaced and by whom. It would also be indicative of if the owners are wanting to give us a successful football team or pursue a purely profit making venture. I’m still not convinced by the 49ers and their motives.

Ever since his time as Bournemouth manager, I have always thought that Eddie Howe would be the perfect fit for Leeds.

I wonder what made Farke change the Leeds playing style/formation when they were set to play Man City/Chelsea/Liverpool? Leeds looked like a totally different team from then on.

The reason I ask (apart from a hail mary to save his job), was there some other influence in the coaching staff or team that made him change his approach. If so, if they trade well and bring in some reinforcements, holding on to him might work out okay especially with the plan to upgrade the stadium capacity.

Can't say for sure on who/what gave him the kick up the arse. However, I can imagine that, with the live stats available pitch-side, nowadays, something might have clicked with him.

I wonder if clubs are using A.I. yet for tactical 'nudges'.

They seems to be glued to their Ipads on the touchline. Bound to be some boffin/A.I. tucked away running the data stream, feeding back to them in real time.

Farke has proved he should be given a chance - will they let him influence the buying and selling is the one question I would to ask the board / if the answer is no , might as well sack him and pay through the nose for house trained puppet.

Interesting take from Farke's pre Brighton comments. Read into it what you will.

I think he has a problem with the Thrifty9ers transfer spending policy.

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke spoke about how he feels the goals he set when he first joined the club three years ago have now been achieved when asked about his future:

"Once I signed the contract three years ago, we spoke about the goals, what we want to achieve. I have to say, my mission is fulfilled and my job is done here, there is nothing to add anymore," Farke said.

"All the boxes that we wanted to tick, are ticked.

"It is important that we are all on the same page and we will have to speak about new goals.

"To do the same again next year and just aim to stay up makes no sense to me.

"I have to be 100% convinced."

The club gave him 100 - 150 million this season, which would get 5 or 6 decent players at £20 million a pop. We don't want a manager that would spend the lot on two players, that's where financial problems start. I don't think Farke is that type, though, and good on him. Unless the club are dramatically reducing the budget next season then he shouldn't have anything to complain about in that department. However, if they are going to continue the ' just stay up' theme then their luck will probably run out and we will no doubt end up with any old manager who's not fit for purpose.

I wonder if Farke fancies the West Ham job if they get relegated

He did buy some decent players which is how we managed to stay up, but a look at the bench tells you that we are very short on quality. I’m far from Farke’s greatest fan but I can see just what he means. Without an injection of cash to bring in some real class, which costs plenty in this money oriented Premier League, it’s going to be another season much like the one just ended. I’m not bothered whether Farke stays or goes, but some huge decisions on and off the field are going to be needed this close season as we have many fringe players on decent money who need moving on, but there seems to be not a lot of interest in prospective buyers for them. We also have several large earners on loan and on contract, deemed not good enough for Leeds but whose futures are undecided. I can see exactly where Farke is coming from.

? Well if that is the case better pack his stuff up - however surely a new contract would have to based on different ambitions from both sides. I know a CEO of a club and he thinks “Red Bull” would expect far more and they have both the money inter club connections required in this modern day - perhaps more focus on the ownership might prove clues as to ambition - personally I don’t think the new stadium is sufficiently ambitious for a “Big” club, but more qualified people than me obviously think it is,

‘Monty, said, “All the boxes that we wanted to tick, are ticked’.

Not Guilty.

Farke said that, not me.

For a city of this size and with its fan base and football history, I aim much, much higher than I believe Farke could ever achieve.
