Got some 21 earlier on BF for 3yo Spirit Catcher - Red 15:57, now 8/1 generally.

Despite Easterby's near monopoly on this race, Johnston has also done well and had a 3yo winner a few years ago. SC comes back from a 43 day break and Johnston does well with these. SC won the early season Royal Mile despite being over-keen and that race has worked out well; 3rd Desert Angel, 4th Atrium, 5th Bullet Force have all won since. He was generally too keen after winning that race but the Hood seems to have made a difference. He's 1lb lower and gets weight for age tomorrow.

There's been rain there today (not yet reported on the BHA site) and his Dam won/ran well on Soft (TF) ground in IRE.

3rd not beaten far but no extra at the finish. Maybe still a bit too keen early. Went 2.38 so my IR lay at 2.02 not matched.

16:20 Not - Rival 7/1 ew 3 places

Ex Balding > Flint, he came clear with one other last time in a surprise return to form. This is a step up in class but he won in higher grade for Balding, is a front-runner so should be suited by this track and stays further so should be keeping on at the finish here. The in-form Saffie Osborne takes 3lb off.

Something's happened at the Flint yard, cos his form is on a different level to previous seasons. Maybe a new assistant, who knows.

Only just got beat after drifting off a straight line in the Grp 2 King Edward V11 Stakes at Ascot. Placed horses from the KE7 are 5 from 16 in a Grp 3 NTO, and almost a 50% place strike rate (24 runners) in any race when returning after a 31-60 day absence (GA 41 days).

Fellowes has stated that GA returned with a back problem after that race but is now traning much better (after treatment) so there's the possibility of improvement on what he's done so far.

Dammit! Knew this horse wasn't running to form when I backed it a couple of times last year. Obv had his problems but now sorted.

Just too busy with other things to look properly at the racing ATM.
