CORONAVIRUS COVID-19

I think you make a good point but the fact remains that some protection is preferable to none for all concerned. I do not wish to contact the virus but even more so do not like the idea that i could be responsible for another person losing there life.
Agree, but the fact is that the governments record on the enforcement of mask wearing has been ludicrous to say the least. The billions being given by the government to their chums in the private sector to provide protection for the public beggars belief.EVERY home in the UK should be provided free of charge with efficient well constructed masks. It's just not happening.

I once read " If slaughter houses had glass walls no one would eat meat " and i get the thinking, but have noticed that many who go vegetarian for humane reasons still eat fish when the latter gets a slower death. I also read that when you slice a tomato it screams. Anyway having stirred the pot i am going to retreat and make a bacon sandwich.

Hi Mick,
I dont regard people who eat fish as veggies.Fishing both commercial and as a hobby is grotesque activity. With the commercial set up the animals are deprived of thier oxygen and soffocate.Fishing as a hobby adds the extra pian of being 'hooked'.
But the point I am trying to make about meat eating in general is that aside from the obvious cruelty inviolved it is no longer economically sustainable.
But more importantly Mick...when did you hear these Tomatoes screaming :) :) :) and have you heard carrots moaning and spuds laughing :) :) :)

I work in the Meat Trade and can assure you the majority of Slaughter houses make it as nice as possible for the animal to relax before its killed, its very strict these days and the stories of animals escaping and being chased are well old!

Chicken farming is another thing but if you choose Free Range then at least they have a decent life, but then how can you tell any animal has a decent life they cant talk!

I think everyone has a right to eat/think what they like it's when they start to tell others and attack people, most of the places I visit don't have Their co names on show anymore and have barbed wire to stop the Animal rights getting in its funny really as 2 years ago I tried to go vegetarian for a year, it isn't easy and coped well even though I went to these places daily

The only one I am in disagreement is halal Meat as that isn't humanely killed in my opinion and you will find a lot of the workers inside don't like it either,

It's even more funny when one of my idols is Morrisey who won't let any meat products be cooked, served or allowed to smell anywhere near his shows as I can vouch for last time I went to Leeds to see him each on to their own

Just saying

Pingman Pingman your final sentence above triggers a memory from long ago. A top band on a big earn on tour still felt the need to make a long list of food and drink requirements to be provided backstage for free. Someone gave a copy to a daily newspaper who printed it, and included in the many demands was a large bowl of Smarties with all the brown ones removed.

My first thoughts being i hope the poor soul tasked with this does not wash his hands. The band concerned was The Who and having been a Fan after reading the above i was done with them. !

I think you will find that is a quite a normal one the things i hear now of these so called big stars is nothing short of ridiculous gone are the days when you could arrange for the dressing room to be packed with young birds, think Gary Glitter saw to that as well as Jimmy Saville, but you do wonder what happens when you get totally detached from reality and you think you cant be touched

I work in a supermarket & it is a strict regime here.

Wear your mask or else.

Last week the colleagues were threatened with the sack if seen within 2 meters of each other.

Yet

there is no limiting of customers allowed in the shop at any one time

and the

managers / sections leaders at my workplace (the same who threatened the colleagues with the sack)

do what they f.......... want.

To say I am p........ off is an understatement.

My 87 year old neighbour gets his virus inoculation tomorrow, I met him just as I got back from my morning march.

I was overjoyed when I opened my front door to see an NHS letter on the mat, when I got round to opening it, it was concerning my Diabetic eye screening. Its taken from 2003 to get my blood sugar out of the diabetic range. When I phoned (long wait) a great deal of effort went into telling me I should stay on the program. I resisted but will now have to sign a form they will send me and circle 3yrs, so they can continue to pester me. I can't remember moving to Russia (guess that's old age)..
