Question

You use the letters in the Square brackets.

So Ascot HDL's are rated C at all distances and Ascot CHS's are rated D at all distances except 3m 110y which is E

It is explained on pages 27-29

I solved the course classifications by developing my lbs per length figures.

Looking at the Solidus course classification for 1m14y trip at Chepstow he gave the distance as an "A", I have
the lbs per length for the trip at 2.14 which is the highest figure for 1 mile distance due to the fact it is run downhill from the start.

Looking at the samples posted on the forum, I see that you need a course classification figure to adjust the speed figure calculations.
If I use my 2.14 lbs per length for the 1m14y trip at Chepstow I would divide 2.14 by .2 (1 length) and end up with a figure of 10.7,
this would be my course classification figure for 1m14y at Chepstow.

Just food for thought :minigun:

Hi TheBluesBrother been reading posts about the Solidus managed to get a pdf copy of which course classifications for the flat are not there, looking at your method using your PPL I find taking your PPL divide by miles times furlongs might work.
For example take Ascot 5f and Ayr 5f
ASCOT 3.37/0.63*5= 27.0 classification
AYR 3.47/0.63*5= 27.7 classification
What do you think could it work.

@whu

Interesting concept, the answer to your question "do I think it could work", sorry no I don't.

Why you are bothering with the Solidus method of course classifications is outdated and obsolete in my eyes,

That's one of the main reasons why I came up with my pounds per length method, it brings all the different racecourse configurations into line.

Mike.

Thank You Mike, as I said I managed to get a copy on pdf of the Solidus and I could not work out how he came about calculating the course classifications and was just kind off messing around trying to find a way, and wondered if a way could be produced to make Solidus kind of ratings.
