I did it my way

no i,ll tell you the first 3 columns are ranked [rated] from 20pts down the last 3 columns are from 10pts down so your rating is out of 90,but its top heavy in the first 3 columns ability consistency and lto class of race as i think vdw would have agreed with that but would like to put more info into the rating ...Les

i,m also assuming that the impact value of the first 3 columns are twice the other 3....thats something i,d like to talk about, is the 2 to 1 ratio the right one?

put the 2.30 at Huntington through my grid ranked and pointed the first 6 in the combination of racing post and mail,s forcast

bobba can i ask you how oh crick goes with your vdw.....Les

Been having a look at the 310 Southwell for someone and from a VDW perspective Docofthebay certainly appears to have a lot going for it.One of the three most consistent,Top on Ability,Highest class of race LTO.

My preference is for Frontier Fighter though who appears weighted to win and is available at 2/1 with William Hill.

I am interested in how you would apply the highest class of race LTO? ie Docofthebay was in the highest class of race LTO but came 5th, Is that seen better than say Dubai Hills winning a lower class race by 5L?

I agree with your pick and think that FF will lead from start to finish to claim a hat-trick of wins

Not always for me the class of race LTO is a reference point.I create what I see as the numerical picture, you know three most consistent, top four ability, class of race LTO,this gives me a starting point and nothing else.If the numerical picture is highlighting anything or more to the point one horse in particular this gives me a bench mark(for want of a better expression)by which I can then judge every runner in relation to.

Normally, that is if doing this on a regular basis,I would use VDW's platform as a means for making assumptions pre race. Then after racing I could better judge the worth of the form for the future and decide if one or any are worthy of keeping an eye on with the view to making a bet further down the line.

the 6.35 epsom..........class 64....betting taken from the mail

sandfrankskipsgo...............38............-2.66.............32............76..........83........96..........-4lbs
indian tinker....................38............-2.00..............18...........76...........88........95..........-16lbs
go nani go.......................35............+0.41..............51..........77...........89.........96.........+2lbs
monumental man...............26............-3.58..............20...........75...........78.........96........-11lbs

the horse im looking at in this race is go nani go
within the top 3 ability in the race as a whole
top most consistent in race as a whole
having the best rating lto money wise by finishing position in race as a whole
within top 2 by mail rating
within top 2 topspeed
within top 2 rpr
not moving a lot up or down in the weights from lto

last 3 runnings
3rd lto..........won class 25 pushed out comfortably
2nd lto.........5th in class 64 so gets rating of 38 driven one pace final furlong
lto...............won class 51...ran on well

moves up to class 64 again but with an extra 2lbs on its back but with everything else in the race a bit over the place think it can go inagain any thoughts...les

Sorry Les, just seen your post and I'm having a day off today as results have not been going to form last couple of days.

I havent seen the race but it looks a carve up. There should have been loads of pace in the race but Dorback was slow away, Go Nani Go raced in mid div and Putin raced mid div. That left the race to Monumental Man and Howareyoudoingnotsobad.

I will watch it later.

was there to make a move did,nt thats the way there going for me just now, well rated to show...did,nt....o well

Hi Les

Looks like the Trainer of Monumental Man handicapped his own horse in his 3 race build up to yesterdays race

3rd May won a 4 YO+ Carried 8-9 (Highest Rated Horse BHA 84

Then put in 3 YO+ Races Carried 10.0, 9.8 & 9-10

Yesterday dropped back into 4 YO + carried 8-13 Highest BHA = 83

Probert was 3/4 on this horse prior to yesterdays race

Good Luck

Chesham

Actually, there is a horse with a similar profile today. Tarooq 6.30 Newmarket. Rated 100 on the all weather he has dropped 10lbs in the handicap on turf racing against 3yos. Off 80 today in a 0-80 against 4yo+ horses. He carried 9-11 in a better race last time.
Stuart Williams 3-6 in last week though a big negative is his record at York 1-41, 0-18 in handicaps. Still he is a 14/1 shot. He is in the Sky Bet Dash tomorrow.

good to see you chesham dont know what to do just now its bad.....plod on with well rated fav/2ndfavs till it comes good but its streching back a wee while now.....les
