I like how Johnny Dineen keeps upsetting Paul Nicholls, once again he's predicted that Paul Nicholls might pinch 1 race at Cheltenham if he's lucky, but probably none, and once again, he said he's got rubbish horses - it was funny last year and Nicholls took it quite well, but obviously wasn't happy about it, but I bet he's not happy this year, I would like to see them meet up again.
Johnny made a decent point though, there's something not quite right at the Nicholls yard, considering he's been a top trainer for so many years, UK trainers are just getting eclipsed by Mullins, but maybe there's something wrong with their recruitment, he said it's a bit like Manchester United buying Christian Eriksen, Casemiro etc. - players that are passed it for big money then don't really perform. He made the comparison between Mrs J Donnelly in Ireland and Mrs Johnny De La Hay, in the UK - both invest plenty of money but Donnelly gets a fair better return from Mullins recruitment than De Le Hay gets from Nicholls.
I looked it up and Donnelly has 188 runs £2,586,995 returned in Ireland and 89 runs £1,866,562 returned in the UK - De La Hay has 229 runs £1,504,964 returned, so he was right - De La Hay is not getting as good value for money as Donnelly is.
