• Hi Guest, The forum will be moving hosts on 26 July and as such will be closed from Midday until the move has completed.
As we will be with new hosts it may take a while before DNS get updated so it could take while before you can get back on the forum.
I think it will take at least 4 hours but could easily be 48!

  • There seems to be a problem with some alerts not being emailed to members. I have told the hosts and they are investigating.

  • Sorry for the ongoing issues that you may have been experiencing whilst using the forum lately

It really is frustrating when the forum slows down or Server Error 500 pops up.

Apparently the hosts acknowledge there is a problem.
Thank you for using our services and sorry for the experienced delay!
Unfortunately, these errors are due to a higher server load. Our senior department knows about the issue and they are working towards a permanent resolution of the issue, however, I'd advise you to consider using our new cPanel cloud solutions: https://www.tsohost.com/web-hosting

I will have to investigate what the differences are with what We have know compared to the alternative service they want us to migrate to.
    Keep safe.

Unexposed 3 year olds

I'm going to try something new here. I'm happy to share more details privately with anybody who engages with the forum regularly (general questions welcome here, obviously!). But in general, I'm focusing on 3 year olds running in 3yo+ races. I've coded a few things to run a definition I've put together of whether they're unexposed, and then some other criteria based on ratings I've put together. Qualifiers are any horse who ranks top of my ratings and who meets my criteria for unexposed.

I'd expect a few qualifiers most days. I'll not set any odds limits for now but might gradually remove those that are very, very short. As ever, 1pt win to BSP. I might not be in a position to update the results each day.

good time to start such a thread 3yo's are starting to dominate all aged handicaps, yesterday there was a race with 2 3yo's finished 1st and 2nd , there were 3 of them in the 2.00 in Brighton brought up a £678 tricast, they really do have an advantage this time of year
Agreed O Outlander. It generally gets busy from about now in terms of runners, peaking in September as the all weather ones become more prominent too.
Obviously, that's useless if you're just picking winners that the market has identified, so I'm hoping my coding of ratings will provide something different. We'll see...
Musselburgh, 15:30: Tadreeb
Thirsk, 16:30: Plastic Paddy
Bath, 19:55: Lisdarragh

I expect I'll definitely start to have a minimum odds requirement when I post these. Goes against my very core to back some of these prices in handicaps. A bit like when a pint first cost more than £3...
Bumper day.

13:00 Sound Reason
15:20 Fools Rush In

19:53 Crazy Luck

13:45 Johnny Boom
14:55 Electric Love
16:05 Semper Augustus
16:40 Lowndes Square
17:10 Brazen Arrow

Nice start. Sound Reason's jockey appears to mistake the winning post and stops riding while holding every chance...

Yep... I'm sure you are right there. Standing in the stirrups allowing the horse to coast isn't exactly the best tactic in a close finish. I've had a lot of poor rides and goof ups lately but the steward's never seem to get involved these days unless it involves the winner, consequently standards generally are falling IMHO.
All 1pt win. I find it works out in the long run (though plenty of examples will prove me wrong).
Travelled well enough but ran accordingly. Disappointing so far but it's very early days.
