Toughest sports of all

Many years ago my mate Alan and me for some reason decided to do a sponsored dawn till dusk tennis match to raise funds for the guide dogs for the blind.
We had been playing for about four hours before the first spectators turned up - our sole sustenance was a crate of milk and a crate of Guinness.
We did actually carry on until it got dark, but the standard of tennis gradually deteriated.
Ended up as pissed as parrots and as stiff as a board for the next couple of days.

Never played the game since!

was a half decent tennis player when I was a kid like best in my school nothing more than that, we went on holiday to Turkey when I was about 38 and hadn't played for more than 20 years, me and the wife playing against step daughter and her husband they were obviously much younger and the husband dismissed me like I had no chance , so I offered him a bet because at this stage I would have thought I would beat them both on my own knowing I had above average skills and he had clearly underestimated me. So about 2 shots into the very first point my step daughter miss hits one that ends up like a drop shot, I run forward at my maximum speed just about reach it and hit a winner, momentum carried me unexpectedly forward and I went straight into the net (obviously harder to stop with the extra bulk since I was a kid)

I got caught up in the net and completely dislocated and fractured my left shoulder, the whole arm was hanging on by what seemed just skin and a few nerves, the pain from the damaged nerves was unbelievable. Everyone laughing at me and a 1 hour trip to a Turkish hospital with the weight of my arm pulling at my nerves.
I couldn't move my arm for weeks even after they finally put it back together,They didn't know if the nerve damage would be permanent it was that bad .
What a clown
Also Never played the game since!
I stick to watching sports nowadays
