Topspeed advice

I'm hoping we have a bit of a Topspeed guru amongst our ranks.

My question is surrounding the adjusted TS that is give on the race cards as oppose to the TS rating that is given in the results. What factors are used to adjust this and does anyone know what method they use? Lengths beaten/won, distance, going, time?

do not understand how they work it all out... what about the races where the winner has been held up at the back of the field, slowly picks them off one at a time, then wins by a nostril? Some others ran faster initially, but fell by the wayside... how does it take racing style into account? I surrender.
