The Summer of love

Sigster

Gelding
I’m as guilty as the next man when I say in previous years it’s been convenient to blame the weather conditions. Whether it be a wet spring, a flooded summer or an extended period of wind and rain and storms there has been a point as far back as I can remember every year(think spring or summertime) when conditions just seem to become an additional obstacle to overcome. This year is different. The weather has held firm for as long a period as I can remember virtually removing conditions as a factor to consider(watering aside). So what I want to know is how has this affected your betting? Whether it be in your strike rate, the number of bets , your bottom line(it’s all about the money) or any other factor that hasn’t sprung to my mind , has the weather been a good thing or a bad thing? Or possibly an indifferent thing?

In my case not really at all i think horse racing has so many factors and imponderables even in perfect conditions, like Pete said in the latest form thread it is easy after the race freak event can happen at any time i suppose.

That why price value is my main factor now and it seem their is some light at the end of the tunnel again but still a long haul to go.

I hope your racing and life is going well btw!

Thanks OnTheNod OnTheNod

Real life has had its ups and downs although there seems to have been more of the latter of late but hopefully I’ve turned the corner. As regards racing, I’ve come back to it refreshed, something Chesham Chesham said struck a chord and I’ve really gone back to basics as a result and stripped everything right back. Since the beginning of July I’m 11/18, which bearing in mind I started with three losers isn’t bad and my Bank is up 70%. I’ve never had a run of form like it and I think it’s a combination of consistent conditions, a lightbulb moment and consistency in my betting approach. I don’t have the time I used to unfortunately but simplifying things seems to be working for me. As wiser men than me have said on here, it’s not about finding more winners, it’s about finding less losers. How are things with you?
