The Fine Form Master Formula

I have been extrapolating with figures rather than form (they can't touch you for it ) and it does my head in  , so having a break back to Fineform :) . Monday stuff so not that exciting.

Catterick (going forecast GS some S) RP Spotlight selects Kannapolis (3 pundits agree 6 oppose)
2.30 Market expected 10.30* no's 1, 3, 4, 5 indicating an open contest. Theoretical strong fav 6/4, possible contender 3/1 to 6/1, nor expected longer than 6/1

7. 26 = 15/1 (40/1)
8. 46 = 8/1 (20/1)

Comment: Have to dutch Mick Maestro, Kannapolis at current odds.

ATR form verdict in comparison.
(Timberman non-runner) Kannapolis, who has not been outside the first two in his last four outings, and recent course winner Mick Maestro. First Impression is another who is well capable on his day but is in need of a revival.

Top Tip: TIMBERMAN (2)
Watch out for: KANNAPOLIS (3)

Timeform
Verdict
KANNAPOLIS ran well in a stronger event at Kempton last time and can return to winning ways. Mick Maestro and Timberman rate the principal dangers.

Success yesterday but cautious today with the conditions.

Lingfield (going forecast Hvy showers) RP Spotlight selects Eclair De Guy (1 pundit agrees 11 oppose) GL Moore top track trainer 2.10 A Toi Phil.
2.10 Market expected 10.45* no's 2, 5, 6, 8, 9 indicating an open contest. Theoretical strong fav 2/1, possible contender 4/1 to 8/1, not expected longer than 9/1.

2*. 48 = 11/2 fair (11/2 mkt) Snuff Box 4 tips. LTO 33 =wgt =1cls? same jck. 1/10 +20L lost position rallied soon ridden then left clear. Ven Williams rates 28/C Deutsch.

5*. 30 = 9/1 (7/2) (Eclair De Guy)
6*. 66 = 7/2 (13/2) Game Line 3 tips (D). LTO 31 +15lbs? -2cls* J Bowen up. PU

8*. 42 = (13/2)
9*. 51 = 5/1 (7/1) Colonel Keating (C). LTO 23 +9lbs =cls same jck. slow jump soon ridden tailed off

Comment: Runners have to get the long D on heavy ground with none really proven. Snuff Box each-way at current odds for me.

ATR form verdict in comparison.
ECLAIR DE GUYE didn't seem to be suited by the nature of the track at Plumpton when finishing seventh in the Sussex National last month. The eight-year-old gelding has previously shown a liking for marathon trips and he can get back on track here, now returning from wind surgery. Snuff Box was a wide-margin winner at Bangor last month and he could be the danger after a lenient 5lb rise, while A Toi Phil and The Newest One also hold claims.

Top Tip: ECLAIR DE GUYE (5)
Watch out for: SNUFF BOX (2)

Wetherby (going forecast S rain) RP Spotlight selects Findthetime (3 pundits agree 11 oppose)
2.05 Market expected 09.40* no's 2, 3, 5, 8 indicating a win restricted to these. Theoretical strong fav 7/4, possible contender 7/2 to 7/1, not expected longer than 7/1.

1. 49 = 17/2 fair (22/1)
2*. 88 = 4/1 (9/2) Arrivederci 3 tips (C&D). LTO 37, -5lbs, =cls, same jck. 4/8 -14L? ridden outpaced rallied kept on no impression.
3*. 83 = 9/2 (15/8) Up For Parol 6 tips (C). LTO 32, +1lb, -2cls*, same jck. 6/18 -8L? headway ridden outpaced kept on not reach leaders
4. 10 = 50/1 (25/1)
5*. 54 = 15/2 (9/2)
6. 53 = 15/2 (8/1)
7. 12 = 35/1 (14/1)
8*. 110 = 10/3 (11/2) Findthetime 4 tips. LTO 50? -22lbs* +1cls? same jck. 1/11 +1L pushed alon led kept on

Comment: Up For Parol dropped in class has early market support so on balance is my selection.

ATR form verdict in comparison.
Findthetime looks to be improving all the time but this could prove too much for him at this stage of his development, whereas Flash The Steel has already won at Grade 3 level and is expected to be in the shake-up, despite returning from a lengthy absence. However, the one that makes most appeal is Jamie Snowden's UP FOR PAROL. He won his only previous visit here in stylish fashion and drops in class following a pleasing sixth in Listed company at Kempton last time.

Top Tip: UP FOR PAROL (3)
Watch out for: FLASH THE STEEL (1)

I see Lingfield is off....just flicking round the Racing Post site and see a couple of maximums at Meydan. Dont suppose Clive Holt thought his system would be used there, back in the day. Will watch to see how qualifiers go. 2:35 Silent Speech 8/15 & 4:55 Valiant Prince 5/4. Can't add all the filters, but be interesting to see. Make a break from checking on the fence panels !

Doesn't look a good day for the race, or even the human race
:)

Kelso ( going forecast S some Hvy with wind and rain) RP Spotlight selects Empire Steel (2 pundits agree 10 oppose)
3.05 Market expected 10.00* no's 2, 3, 4, 6 indicating an open contest. Theoretical strong fav 5/4, possible contender 5/2 to 5/1, not expected longer than 5/1.

1. 26 = 13/1 fair (13/2 mkt)
2*. 58 = 5/1 (9/2)
3*. 87 = 3/1(11/4) Pay The Piper 8 tips (BF2?). LTO 13 +3lbs = cls same jck. 2/4 -1/2L ridden joined leader not fluent kept on always held.
4*. 31 = 11/1 (3/1) (Empire Steel)
5. 77 = 7/2 (14/1) (Clan Legend)
6*. 80 = 7/2 (4/1) The Mighty Arc 2 tips . LTO 35 -18/bs +2cls? same jck. 1/7 +5L* made all went clear going easily ridden comfortably

Comment: Dutch Pay The Piper and The Mighty Arc at current odds.

ATR form verdict in comparison.
EMPIRE STEEL was travelling best when coming to grief four out in the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby on Boxing Day (Silver Hallmark well beaten and pulled up), before putting in a lacklustre effort when pulling up in the Peter Marsh Chase last time. He is 4lb lower here than that Haydock run and that may prove lenient now back at a track where won easily this time last year. Riders Onthe Storm struggled in a hot Cheltenham handicap latest and was three lengths behind the reopposing Clan Legend when the latter scored at Aintree the time before. Pay The Piper has been a hugely consistent sort in novice chases but is not obviously well handicapped.

Top Tip: EMPIRE STEEL (4)
Watch out for: CLAN LEGEND (5)

Of the maximums today Shoot To Kill pops up again 4:20 Lingfield, but has only run to an Inform rating that is exactly par. Has not ben winning by far and seems to like track and benefitted from trainer switch. Plus 9/2 not a bad price....will not include though. Almost typed myself in to it :)

Yesterday bit of a boil over with Silent Speech, but Valiant Price won at 13/8 and about 9/4ish on Betfair. Didnt back - so not sure if you get bog at Meydan - but small profit to level stakes, and slightly bigger to SP if you could get bog.

With the heavy going I have just assessed the feature race of the day on the UK mainland to keep my hand in.

Carlisle (going forecast Hvy) RP Spotlight selects Equus Dreamer ( 2 pundits agree 10 oppose) N Richards top track trainer
4.05 Market expected 09.55* no's 1, 3, 4 indicating a win restricted to these. Theoretical strong fav 7/4, possible contender 7/2 to 7/1, not expected longer than 7/1.

1*. 30 = 12/1 (9/2)
3*. 70 = 9/2 (3/1) Equus Dreamer 3 tips. LTO 73? -2lbs =cls same jck. 4/8 -12L? lazy slow jump reminders ridden lost gound beaten?
4*. 80 = 4/1 (15/8) Bavington Bob 7 tips. LTO 44? +8lbs =cls same jck. 1/9 + 4 1/4L* outpaced rallied led ridden out.
5. 67 = 5/1 (14/1)
6. 48 = 15/2 (28/1)
7. 15 = 25/1 (8/1)
8. 18 = 22/1 (16/1)
9. 72 = 9/2 (12/1) (Glittering Love - N Richards)

Comment: Selection is Bavington Bob with just getting the D a concern.

ATR form verdict in comparison.
BAVINGTON BOB was well on top when pulling away from all of his rivals in the final furlong to score at Newcastle last month. The son of Court Cave has been progressing well this season as a novice chaser and he can continue his development in this contest off an 8lb higher mark to land the hat-trick. Juge Et Parti didn't shape badly when finishing fourth at Ayr in December and he could find improvement wearing first-time cheekpieces, while cases can also be made for Donna's Delight and Fado Des Brosses on their best form.

Top Tip: BAVINGTON BOB (4)
Watch out for: JUGE ET PARTI (5)
