OS ?
I dont have posting or read only rights for the Inner Sanctum unfortunately, so wouldn't be able to contribute

If you want to start your own Braddock Thread on the OS, you would probably find that the same people who contribute to the IS Braddock Thread would join in with yours. It is a good way to get to interact with some of the longer standing members.

Example we were looking at this Race from a Braddock Method and eliminating Runners to leave a short list to concentrate on

Heres a system from a book I have 100 Famous Racing Systems by R.W.Woods ~ circa 1954
See Below

Heres todays qualifiers from The Brook Success Plan which has its moments

2.20 Ayr Molly Milan
2.35 Sou Kemsing
2.55 Ayr Daniels Journey
3.40 Sou Ians Memory
4.15 Sou Rain In The Face
4.50 Sou Lifting Me Higher

Sorry
In a rush made an error
2.20Ayr Molly Milan and 3.40 Sou Ians Memory are NOT the system selections

I used the selection box and forcast from the racing post and took the highest picked clear selection (no joint) which was fav and less than 11/4

Sorry I cant help you there ,I don't have any of Peaches books, I would hazard a guess tho that 'Olga Lillian' is another of his pseudonyms.

I do have some SCHB cuttings about the Olga Lillian system somewhere and I will try to find them. This was a system from before the Great War .
It dealt with the finishing order in races on the Flat the list closing around the end of May.

I have had a quick root and can't turn them up at present, however, in my racing notebook I found this entry for what it is worth:

After the Olga Lillian System
(cross-reference SCHB 4602, May 11 1978 for definitive system).
1. Check the results of all meetings (Flat turf) where the official rating of the going was good.
2. Take the race, or races, where the time returned was better by average than the other races.
3. Selections are those runners that come within a short head, head or neck of the winner.
4. Support them for their next three outings, especially if they are at a reasonable price. Stop at a win.

Hi Jackform Jackform

Do you remember the chap who posted in the Sporting Handicap Book Forum and part of his method was Chasers who carried 12-7 and a Split Second Rating of 80 (Old Split Second ratings which were 0-100)

Some of the old Sporting Chron sports forum correspondence posted has been received with some interest, so perhaps more of the same might go down well.

I might have asked this before - but has anyone still got a letter from " Scaramouche " that was published on the Sports Forum of the old Handicap Book? I think it was the only letter that week and took up half of the back page.

He was basically graphing on a BBC computer the speed figures over 6 Furlongs of horses in a race. He only had about 20 bets a season, but that was enough to make a handsome profit.

tom, if you could narrow it down to with say a couple of years I would go through my back copies if I have them for those years, but doing the whole lot from 73 to the 90's is too big an exercise.

(Some years ago I gave a lot of the back copies away to a pro-backer at the insistence of my wife, 'a fire hazard' she claims. I understand the chap now sells copies at £50 a throw - so I missed my way again ).

I used to keep my Sporting Lifes all neatly collated by month had several years worth and received the same orders. So Nov 5th and a bonfire party i whacked the lot on with the unfortunate consequence that the wind then got up and red hot embers dispersed over a wide area causing some concern to many neighbours and myself.Fortunately the Fire Brigade was not needed.

What i did keep was the last edition Tue May 12th 1998.Sod The Arabs and Maxwell.

Jackform Jackform I'm pretty sure it was in the early part of 1982 Thanks in advance.

tom, I checked the SCHB from 2 Jan 82 (4792) to 4 Sep 82 (4827) and didn't find anything attributed to Scaramouche. I did read letters from The Baconman, Festina Lente and also the farewell from Alan Gregory after 25 years as Methodmaker.
Sorry I couldn't find it.

Jackform Jackform thankyou for this great thread. I am not into betting on horse racing but i find these old systems extremely interesting, maybe one day if i get the time i will have to dip my toe into the water!
If you happen upon any old football or golf systems in your attic please do post!!
