Speed figure question

Colt
How do you adjust speed figures for the race the horse is entered into?
Say last time out a horse ran 8F, and earns a figure of 80, and next time is entered into a race over 10F, how do you change the figure of 80 he got for 8F to adjust for the 10 he is running next, or vice versa if he ran 10 and is now running 8.

Hi T Mills

I think it is a Judgement call rather than a mathematical one, a Horse who recorded a 80 in a 10f Race and was top on Speed ratings would need a Fast pace to win a 8f race and a Horse who recored a 80 in a 8f race and is top on speed ratings going into a 10f furlong race would need a slow pace.

Good Luck

Chesham
