How do you use speed figures, I dont keep speed figures but I do choose a race and rate it on the day using TBBs method, today I rated the 3:10 Leic.
Prickles 11-12 55
Rebel High 11-8 49
Cara Court 11-7 88
Tinelyra 11-2 81
Vertueux 11-2 59
Peak Seasons 10-13 56
Mr Bachster 10-10 54
Finch Flyer 10-7 75

I had Cara Court top rated, I used the race 1 before last as in lat race unseated.
Three questions really.
1. Should you leave a horse that as unseated or fell and not rate it?
2. How can a horse with a rating of 54 win against horses rated 81, 88. Is there another rating I should use with the speed ratings?
3. Can speed ratings not be used lto only?

1. You cannot rate a horse that has fell or unseated.
2. Mr Bachster was a job horse today went off at 3/1 against better rated rivals, I have him smashing his handicap mark by +16.
3. Personally I like to use the best figure from their last 3 runs, especially on the flat.

I settled for a going allowance of +0.10s/f (good) today about Leicester, I liked the comment from Hugh Taylor of ATR, when he once said that at Leicester you can have 2 different going allowances
on the same part of the track.

Mr Bachster won one and placed in two from three point to point races earlier this year. He only cost 2.5k at the sales in July and looks a bargain. Lee has a fab record getting horses right.
