Question about speed rating

How do you change a speed rating for today,s race. Lets say I rate a horse from last time out with a speed rating of 75, and lets say it ran at Ripon. Today it runs at Ayr, how to I alter the 75 to suit, or do you just leave it at 75.
 
Well ideally your ratings will come from some kind of standard.. Therefore if your horse scored a 75 at one course then, theoretically it could achieve the same rating at a different track under similar conditions.. Obviously though, if the 75 was scored for a 5f race on Good to Firm ground then it wouldn't really hold much worth if the horse is due to run an 8f race on Soft ground next time out..
