PHS's ramblings

Had a nibble at Bad Habits in the 17:00 Wol tonight. Not looked properly but he was 2nd over C&D in a Cl5 race here for Boughey less than a year ago off 67 and runs in this 0-55 off 53 having already won for Carr at the end of Dec 2025. The negative is James Sullivan.

Not much pace on and I expect him to lead or race prominently from stall 1. It looks a winnable race. Only a tiny bet for a bit of interest.

3.75/1 (Boosted) B365

Gutted. Past it over with it stepping up
Jeez! Kempton specialist and you left it! I Know that gut wrenching feeling. I see it's even won from wide draws at Kempton.

Just noticed, those Footstepsinthesand horses tend to hold their form well into their 'senior' years.

Kempton going yesterday;

Official: Std to Slow
Timeform: Std
TBB: Std to Fast

Edit: p added to Kemton :D

I think TBB said the other day that "std to slow" was how the officials always describe it , having looked at the sectionals i would guess it was about the same as recent meetings.

I think I'm giving up on Newcastle. Form never seems to work out there. Horses run well there one week and down the field the next.

I looked at the 18:25, came up with 3 possibles; Wyvern, Trais Fluors and Relevant Range, but there was no value, so left some bets up, thankfully not matched. Nowhere near.

The finale at Wolv tomorrow looks a strong race for a 0-55. You could fancy several and still not find the winner.

Too late for the Tips thread but I backed Roaring Ralph - 20:30 Sou at 9/4 last night with 365, then looked at the race and tripled the bet, 2/3rds at the new price of 5/2. It's now Evens. Only Teggy Lasso looks a threat if it improves on it's last run (one-paced inside the final furlong but may come on for the race).

Not so far Sean :D . Gonna get 10lb hike now (unless the handicapper realises how poor the rest were).

Was looking to back Mooretown Lad (20:30 Wol) last night but by the time I'd checked out the race the price had been smashed up; 15/2>7/2 ( I considered taking the 9/2 at B365 but decided not to).

McEntee (the jockey) had this prominent and 5 wide round the first two bends last time so he did well not to be beaten too far. The switch to Finley Marsh and drop to 8.5f look in his favour.

Sceptic drops in class here but not convinced he fully stays this trip. First Encounter another possible.

Swift Salian seems a massive price at 4.4 TBP; generally a 9/1 shot with the books. Only just beat FTO at Ponte last time. What am I missing?

0/12 in today's rating band possibly P PHS, plus it looks to favour a hold up.

I'm off the a PTP and giving them a miss today but best of luck.

I would go win only on the exchange with in running trades, as I'd be stronger on the win over the place angle.

He looks the type who could trade short but fade late on, but that is my gut and not back up by the results.

The two times he went sub 2.0 and lost, he placed on both occasions at 9/2 and 2/1
