i read the book he had three and needed a other one for yankee , And he remembered he had gave len lungo one of his old horses so phoned him asked how its doing as he needed one for easter , He told him its raring to go now so he asked him could he hold it for easter weekend which he did as it would be nice undercover horse but is he sure it could win lungo told him it should win and was at 16/1 on day of race.
If i mind right one got beat of the four, But he won a bundle with three winners and could have went well over a million if four won

He eventually got the four up gerry gerry
The book was reprinted a few years later to include some info on the later gamble and has extra chapters

Though Len Lungo was never involved in any of the multiple bet gambles, he retired from training in 2009
the "undercover" horse was Jeu De Roseau trained by Chris Grant and ridden by Dennis O'Regan

May 10th - 2010 he ran four - Jeu De Roseau (Chris Grant), Savaronola, Agapanthus & Sommersturm (all trained by Curley) - 3 won with Sommersturm finishing 5th

In January 2014 he went in again with four - Eye of The Tiger (Des Donovan) , Seven Summits (Sophie Leech) , Indus Valley (Des Donovan) & Low Key (John Butler ) - all FOUR won - all were ex Barney horses or trained by ex Barney people
Most of the money won went into badly needed money for Barney's African charity DAFA that built schools in Zambia

The BHA held an investigation and the bookies withheld paying out for a week and a half but nothing was ever proven and they had to pay out
Barney obviously kept schtum for a few years but he later admitted at a Cheltenham Festival preview in Galway later that he was the "brains" behind it - it cost the bookies well over £2 million

There are too many family and extended family ties in racing owners and circles to say that such chances do not happen , but if you are “out drawn “ why not just run and accept the Hcpers help in the OR.

“Class will beat the draw “ owner quote

The usual suspects have 6 horses running today although none in the same race, they normally have a nice priced winner among them in the past week they've had a 14/1 winner, 7/1 winner & 80/1 placed. On another forum there was quite the discussion about them unfortunately that forum has now put the thread behind a paywall
