Monday 4th March

5.30 Wolverhampton - Big Dream 9/4 (Hills) - White Mist 11/2 (Hills)

Going for two in this one , BIG DREAM won last time out by 4 1/2 lengths over CD and has been put up by 9lb but i still think he can remain competitive dropped down to 6f , wore blinkers for the first time in that last race and theyre retained here. Irish trainer Anthony McCann has a 22.2% strike rate here this season and hes acquired the services of top claimer Tommie Jakes for the first time , whose 5lb claim technically takes that 9lb rise down to a more manageable 4lb. Looks to be drawn okay and i can see him close here. WHITE MIST is in search of the three timer , and has been in solid form so definatley in with a shout , won over 6f at Kempton last time and gets a 4lb rise for that but claimer takes off a handy 3lb. Does well at this CD with two wins and two places from five runs , and he should be in the mix. The selection is another one where the addition of headgear seems to have worked the oracle , since being fitted with a visor hes won three of his last four and he has the visor on again today. Trainer sends just this one out today and she has a 20% strike rate here this season.

I don't feel I'm getting the rub either, at the moment, but perseverance can pay off.

Very nearly with White Mist @Sean so it wasn't a bad effort from yourself. Kicking myself for going Win only though on WM.

PS. You have mentioned Doctor Mozart in this thread before. I think tonight could be his night - same mark / weight / course / distance / and Stall as his last win.
.

I'll probably come back to it at some point retriever retriever but i got a few things going on and probably aint given it as much concentration as i should be doing tbh , working on something else , and i'll be seeing how that does this month (did okay last month) and then if looking good posting it up

I wouldn't take it too seriously at the moment Sean. It's always tough at this time of the year especially with the ground conditions being so poor and the PP prize money. On the AW once everything has been well exposed over the winter time the chances of finding anything that others have missed are slim. I am usually done with it by the middle of January. The new flat season starts next month and hopefully bringing better weather with it.

Losing streak has been going on longer than that though Arrocuda Arrocuda , i mean it started from December of last year , and werent much better for a couple of months before that .. usually i do okay but i dunno for whatever reason im not picking them like i used to so gonna leave it for now , try summat else , get on with the allotment and stuff , and then come back to it in a couple of months or so probably ..think the weather is getting me down tbh , just cant do sod all cos its too wet and i need to be active to get me brain working lol

Yeah.... just when the monsoon started. Was same for me and I'm not just talking about the THIAH thread. Still managed to make money though as I have a different strategy for betting when the mud is flying based purely upon the on course market as they are going to post. The theory is that when the ground goes heavy the punters on the course have a far better idea of just exactly what the conditions are likely to be whilst the rest of us suckers are relying on some posh old git' with a stick in his hand who probably didn't bother giving a late morning update because it was cold and didn't want to get too wet. So look for any moves that happen and try to get in early before the avalanche happens. Be wary of market adjustments though as sometimes horses move in purely because others are friendless and the bookies are just balancing their books.
