I'm a little bit puzzled by Carlie Johnston putting
Glen Nevis in a 21k race as its first handicap. RP quote in running "In touch with leaders, weakened over 1f out". Newmarket July course must be very daunting for a horse in its first handicap, even if it was against its own age group. (Class 3) (0-90, 3yo+) 7f July Good To Firm. Now races at Brighton over a mile. Totally different type of racecourse. Dropped a couple of punds after first handicap.

Class 4) (3yo+ 0-80)

Timeform comment ; 240,000Y: second foal: dam, 8.7f-11f winner, half-sister to smart 9f-15f winner Gifts of Gold: will benefit from return to 1m.
Long way to go from Middleham 293 miles with a couple of horses. Jockey Change as well.
Just my suspicious mind.

Paul Brown Paul Brown, I saw this earlier and thought it rather odd after Fineform rating Tex (11/4 mkt 12.55pm) 4/1 my tissue. Sea Suite (10/3) 7/2, Silca Bay (10/3) 4/1 together with Northern Empire as the range to expect the winner from.
However, in the past where the handicapper has at least 15lbs to work with winners were often favoured and came from the bottom 3rd of the weights. Glen Nevis is top-rated of the bottom third in this contest.
