I really like her.
First heard her as a co-analyst on Racing UK about a year ago now, and thought she was absolutely dreadful. Who is this annoying woman with a horrible sounding voice, stuttering and sounding as if she is reading from a script.
She's come on in leaps and bounds in a short space of time within that role. She's prepared to say what she thinks when required and is a real asset to the ITV team.
Seemingly making a very good jockeys agent for her boyfriend Kevin Stott too. Since taking on the role, she seems to be getting him tons of good rides. He;s just ridden a treble at Chelmsford this evening. on three favourites. Okay, one of them was for George Boughey, (I suspect he will be announced stable jockey for that up and coming yard soon), but other two winners came for other yards, (including in the class 2 handicap on Keith Dalgleish's Chichester).
Kevin Stott is a shoo-in barring injury for the all-weather jockeys championship, I'd say. Not sure when Ben Curtis returns form injury, but there don;t seem to be very many other jockeys going for the title this time round. Last years' champion David Probert has only had two or three winners this year and has had a very disappointing turf season, in my opinion, (especially considering Oisin Murphy's suspension), whilst Richard Kingscote sounded very unenthusiastic about riding much over the winter, (although seemingly not basing himself abroad).
Kevin Stott has made giant strides this past couple of years, and is the most likely to make his way to the top amongst the jockeys not three at the moment, I'd say.
Megan Nicholls seems to be making a name for herself away from her famous father's vicinity, and proving that some of her dad's talent has rubbed off on her.
