Maidens

Going to trial a thread to track selections in Maiden races. The general theme is as follows:

• Horse posted a good speed rating last time out and has the potential to improve past others in the field
  or
• Horse form ratings for last two/ three races are stronger than others with experience in the race.

I never back horses that are FTO in Maidens, always preferring experienced runners.

The race has two main protagonists; Bush House (2.12) & War at Sea (2.22).

Assessing the Ran To Form ratings, War at Sea has the highest rating with 51 from his 04th February run at Newcastle. Bush House posted a respectable 46 on his debut on 16th January at this track.



What really catches my eye is the Speed Rating posted by Bush House on his debut (58 vs. 49, 40 for War At Sea):



The selection is for Bush House to improve past War at Sea to take today's prize @ 2.12.

15:25 Lingfield Shankara 2.86

Based on his 13th February run at Wolverhampton, Shankara has the best previous form in the 15:25 at Lingfield.

I'm always wary when comparing Tapeta performance on Polytrack and vice versa, but agree does have best form in race tomwilson1986 and also maybe pedigree but my preference is for the newcomer Falcons Cliff, but you are most likely correct

Redicean came 8th in a nice Listed race at Newmarket last October, posting up nice form and speed figures. I think he has the class to take this maiden at Redcar today.
