Sup guys, this is probably a impossible question, but it's really starting to irritate me. It's great having sectional times for some of the AW tracks provided by ATR but the problem is comparing those to tracks without sectional times. We all know the method.. take the leaders time at the 2F or 3F pole and you can calculate the two sections of a race, the problem I find is that using lengths behind the leader to calculate time seems pretty inaccurate.
I'm going to use the 5:10 & 5:45 6F races from Wolverhampton on the 6th Feb 2019 for my example because here we can check the lengths behind against the actual recorded time.
In the 5:10 Deconso & Wye Bother lead to the 2F pole in a time of 50.3s with Not So Shy approximately 1.75 lengths behind in 3rd in a time of 50.6. So thats 0.3s difference which seems about right for a 1.75 length gap.
In the 5:45 Phoenix Star led to the 2F pole in 49.9 with Killer Queen approximately 1 length behind in 2nd in a time of 50.2. So again 0.3s difference.
Visually watching the video replays the distances look miles apart yet the times suggest they are the same?? If say we didn't have sectional timing at Wolvs and we used the lengths back as seen on the video replay to calculate times they wouldn't even be close.
