I understand your concerns regarding HorseRaceBase (HRB). Here's an overview based on the available information:
Pricing and Suitability for Hobby Punters:
HRB offers two membership levels:theukbettingforum.co.uk+4HorseRaceBase+4Talking Horses+4
  • Recreational Account: £25 per month, providing access to a comprehensive suite of tools suitable for most casual punters.HorseRaceBase+1Talking Horses+1
  • Enhanced Account: An additional £10 per month (£35 total), offering increased storage and data limits for more intensive users.HorseRaceBase
For a hobbyist, the Recreational Account should suffice, offering a balance between cost and functionality. HorseRaceBase
Free Trial Availability:
HRB currently offers a 3-day free trial to new members, granting full access to all facilities. This allows potential users to evaluate the platform before committing to a subscription. HorseRaceBase
Project Activity and Community Engagement:
While the HRB platform continues to operate and provide its services, there have been concerns about the activity levels in its community forums. Notably, the last forum post dates back to May 28, 2022, which might suggest reduced community engagement. However, it's important to differentiate between the platform's functionality and its forum activity. The core tools and data services of HRB remain active and accessible to users.
Suspension of Free Trials:
Historically, there were instances where the free trial was suspended due to misuse by individuals attempting to access multiple trials. However, the current offering is a 3-day free trial, as mentioned earlier. It's advisable to utilize this trial period to assess the platform's suitability for your needs.theukbettingforum.co.uk
Conclusion:
HorseRaceBase continues to function as a valuable resource for horse racing enthusiasts, offering a range of tools and data. While community forum activity may have declined, the platform's core services remain operational. The 3-day free trial provides an opportunity to explore its features and determine if it aligns with your betting strategies.

I'm interested in a ONE DAY trial as a curiosity, just to see if your system works as intended (NOT WINS) and can help my hobby strategies.
Twenty-five pounds per month on a potentially dodgy £25 liability "blind" is a bit to much to ask. IMHO

Free Trial for HRB is currently suspended. I did subscribe to Flatstaats from its early beginnings until around 2012 when I switched to HRB, which covers NH , Flat, AW for U.K. and Irish Racing. Flatstats only covers AW and Flat and no Irish data

Not sire if Flatstats have Trends amd I know they don’t have the Official OR’s

Only one race that I covered today.

Starting with the Past Trends HRB page

Comprehensive Final Analysis & Rankings - Warwick 3m5½f Handicap Chase

Using combined insights from historical trends, top performer data, current odds, and detailed recent chase form analysis (Chase TFR, Tfigs, and race comments), the following is the ranked order and rationale for today's race:

🥇 1. SOUND AND FURY

  • Ideal age historically (8yo).
  • Exceptional recent chase form, recent TFR 130 adjusted; solid wins at Wetherby and Uttoxeter. Consistently finishing strongly.
  • Proven stamina and conditions suitability (heavy/soft).
  • Strong jockey partnership (75% strike rate).
  • Early prominent positioning advantageous.
Verdict: Clear top pick, strongly aligns with winning historical profile.

2️⃣ ILLICO DE COTTE

  • Ideal age (7), progressive and consistent chase form (latest adjusted TFR 131+).
  • Solid placings in competitive races, strong finishing efforts noted.
  • Handles soft/heavy ground effectively; stamina likely suitable.
  • Reliable jumper with excellent jockey/trainer combination (Skelton team).
  • Likely front-runner positioning may benefit tactically.
Verdict: Strongest rival to Sound And Fury, significant threat if handling trip.

3️⃣ NORTHERN POET

  • Slightly older (10) but historically competitive.
  • Recent good chase win at Doncaster (Adjusted TFR 132).
  • Excellent soft ground record and solid stamina.
  • Early midfield/prominent running style effective for this race.
Verdict: Best each-way value option given stamina reliability and ground preference.

4️⃣ ARE U WISE TO THAT

  • Age suitable (8), historically good.
  • Inconsistent recently, best recent TFR (133 adjusted at Wetherby).
  • Conditions suit (heavy), needs bounce-back from poor last run.
Verdict: Place chance but somewhat risky.

5️⃣ THE BIG BREAKAWAY

  • Inconsistent, prone to jumping mistakes.
  • Last performance encouraging (Chase TFR 131+), but overall profile unreliable.
Verdict: High-risk, moderate each-way prospect.

5️⃣ CAP DU NORD

  • Age (12) historically against him.
  • Declining recent form, multiple poor runs and pull-ups.
  • Proven class historically but currently unreliable.
Verdict: Limited appeal, significant revival needed.

6️⃣ DUKE OF DECEPTION

  • Poor recent form, multiple pulled-up runs.
  • Questions over stamina and jumping.
Verdict: Least attractive option today.

Final Recommended Betting Order:

  1. Sound And Fury ✅ (Ideal profile, conditions, and recent form)
  2. Illico De Cotte (Strong form and class, distance a minor query)
  3. Northern Poet (Each-way value, suited by conditions)
  4. Are U Wise To That (Potential place claims)
  5. The Big Breakaway (Risk due to inconsistency and jumping issues)
  6. Cap Du Nord (Questionable recent form)
  7. Duke Of Deception (Least appealing candidate)
🏆 Recommended Bet:

  • Win bet: Sound And Fury
  • Each-way alternative: Northern Poet

AJ the Hobbyist: No liquidity as yet. You will have to work on the form only. I will give the latest odds 4 minutes before start time. Here is current BF data: Pasted 22:48 Turf Paradise (USA)Mon 10 Mar R6 6f Mdn Claim BF Exchange data

HRE Custom GPT:

False Favourite Analysis – 22:48 Turf Paradise (USA) – 6f Mdn Claiming

Initial Favourite(s) Based on Betfair Data:

  • Makin My Fortune (2.8/1)
  • Bottle Caps (3.5/1)
  • Slew O' Mischief (7.5/1) (not an outright favourite but worth considering as a contender)

Key Criteria for a False Favourite:

  1. Weak Recent Form / No Wins - Has the favourite been underperforming?
  2. Poor Course/Distance Suitability - Is the horse best suited to another distance or surface?
  3. Lack of Tactical Edge (Pace/Bias) - Could their running style be a disadvantage in today’s race?
  4. Market Overestimation - Are there stronger alternatives being ignored?

Runner-by-Runner Breakdown:

1️⃣ Makin My Fortune (Current Favourite at 2.8/1)

  • Key Weaknesses:
    • Has zero wins from 8 starts.
    • Last time out, finished 6th of 9 at this course and distance, beaten 8.25 lengths.
    • Best performance was over 5.5f, so 6f may be slightly too far.
    • Races close to the pace, but hasn’t shown the turn of foot needed to finish strong.
✅ Verdict: Potential False Favourite
  • Odds suggest it’s a top contender, but the lack of a strong finish and poor record at 6f make it vulnerable.
  • More value elsewhere.

2️⃣ Bottle Caps (Second Favourite at 3.5/1)

  • Key Weaknesses:
    • Another 0 from 9 runner, with four 4th-place finishes.
    • Races mid-to-rear—could struggle tactically if the track favours pace runners.
    • Last race at 6f here saw it finish 4th, 5.25 lengths behind the winner.
✅ Verdict: Also a Suspect Favourite
  • Runs consistently but does not have the killer instinct to win.
  • Looks more of a place bet than a strong win contender.

3️⃣ Slew O' Mischief (7.5/1)

  • Key Strengths:
    • Last race was 2nd place at this track/distance.
    • Front-runner—which could be a huge advantage if the pace bias favours speed.
✅ Verdict: NOT a False Favourite
  • Although not the actual favourite, it’s a big threat to win.

Stronger Alternatives / Value Bets:

  • Slew O' Mischief (7.5/1)
    • A front-runner who finished 2nd last time out.
    • Best tactical position in a field with weaker closers.
  • Mr. Mount Dutton (Unraced but well-supported)
    • Trainer Vann Belvoir has a solid record with debutants.
    • Market confidence suggests he might be ready to fire first time out.

Conclusion – False Favourites Identified:

❌ Makin My Fortune (2.8/1) is a false favourite – inconsistent, best form at a shorter distance.
❌ Bottle Caps (3.5/1) also looks overrated – lacks a winning mentality, mid-to-rear running style might struggle.
🏇 Better Alternatives:
Slew O' Mischief (7.5/1) – Best form, front-runner advantage.
Mr. Mount Dutton (watch market) – Strong trainer record with debutants.
Final step:
Check last-minute odds movements 4 minutes before the race to confirm.

🚨 False Favourite Confirmation

✅ False Favourites Identified:❌ Makin My Fortune (7.8/1 now, was 2.8/1 earlier)

  • Drifting alarmingly – was a previous favourite, but heavy laying suggests a lack of confidence.
  • Has never won and was well beaten at this course & distance.
  • Best form is at 5.5f, so 6f might be a slight stretch.

❌ Bottle Caps (6.0/1 now, was 3.5/1 earlier)

  • Another weak market move – significant drift suggests vulnerability.
  • 0 from 9 career, always places but never wins.
  • Mid-to-rear running style is a tactical disadvantage if the race favours front-runners.

🏇 Best Betting Picks (Based on Market Moves & Form)

✅ 1) Slew O' Mischief (5.2/1) – Most Backed in Late Market

  • Shortened significantly from 7.5/1 → 5.2/1.
  • Last time out finished 2nd over this track/distance.
  • Front-runner – could get the lead and control the race.
  • Best value in the race based on form & market confidence.

✅ 2) Lord Anthem (5.2-5.8/1) – Well-Backed Unraced Contender

  • Stable money coming in – suggesting strong connections backing.
  • Unraced, but trainer Jack McCartney has a history of strong first-time-out runners.
  • Risky due to inexperience, but potential upside is huge.

🚨 Potential Wildcard Each-Way Play:Smile Don't Wink (10.9/1)

  • Unraced, but market holding firm around 10/1.
  • Trainer Debbie Peery can get debut winners.
  • If looking for an each-way play, this has value.

Final Betting Recommendations:

💰 Win Bet: Slew O' Mischief (5.2/1) – Strongest form + best market move.
🎯 Each-Way/Value Bet: Lord Anthem (5.2/1) OR Smile Don’t Wink (10.9/1).
🚨 AVOID: Makin My Fortune & Bottle Caps – both big drifters & false favourites.

Summary:

  • Market suggests Makin My Fortune & Bottle Caps are weak favourites.
  • Slew O' Mischief now favourite and is a strong win contender.
  • Lord Anthem & Smile Don't Wink are unexposed, but could surprise.

Good luck with your bets! 🏇💨

Hi gerry gerry

I post Pre race on the Blog, because I appear to have 110 followers last time that I looked and would not want them to lose money because of me and my selections.

Horse Racing is an ever learning process and if a method that I have posted as an example on the OS , points someone in the right direction , then that’s what it should be all about, exploring different methods and not looking for free tips.

On the Blog everyone seems to back their own selections and I don’t have to worry that they would lose money on my selections as they have their own methods and bets limed up.

The only time would be if they had worked the same race and independently arrived at the same conclusion Using their own analytical skills. There are times when one other or more arrives at the same conclusion, using their own method ,we call it a Snap, I like it when that happens as the horse usually wins.

I think the forum should be like the Smartsig Magazine where different people share their methods, no cryptic crap like some of the VDW followers of old , but well researched methodology that can be explored. It’s like the old saying “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”

Lucky 15 Performance Review

Stake:
£7.50 (15 x £0.50)

Returns: £0.86

Profit/Loss: -£6.64

Key Takeaways:

  • Only one of the four selections won (Lossiemouth at 4/6), meaning the Lucky 15 collapsed with no meaningful returns.
  • Majborough (1/2 fav) finished third, which was a major disappointment given market support and strong pre-race confidence.
  • Broadway Boy (8.0) and Constitution Hill (1.61) both lost, with Constitution Hill’s defeat being a complete shock at long odds-on.
  • A heavily odds-on double (Majborough & Constitution Hill) failing is an unusual and costly outcome, especially when considered ‘bankers’.
  • Broadway Boy was a speculative each-way selection, but ultimately didn't hit the frame.
  • Overall, the bet was well-structured (mix of short-priced bankers and each-way value), but the day was ruined by major upsets.

Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”

Another way to do it, is to:

Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and HE/She feeds YOU for a lifetime”

Everyone needs a chance to be a fish giver!

Your Personal Each-Way Lucky 15 – Serious Potential Here! 💰🔥

This bet has huge upside£1,494.03 return if it lands—and you're playing it smart with each-way terms to cover places. Let’s break it down:

14:40 Cheltenham – Comfort Zone (8.0)

  • High-class hurdler, useful juvenile last season.
  • Been aimed at this – only 4 runs this season.
  • Handicap mark looks fair, big-field experience a plus.
  • 28-runner minefield, but he has the class to place or win.
  • Confidence level: 7/10 – Solid each-way shot.

15:20 Cheltenham – Mister Coffey (7.5)

  • 2nd in last year’s National Hunt Chase, proven stamina.
  • Frustrating sort – always there, rarely wins.
  • Nico de Boinville + Henderson combo = Big chance.
  • Handicap mark is tempting – should place at worst.
  • Confidence level: 8/10 – Each-way banker.

16:40 Cheltenham – My Mate Mozzie (8.0)

  • Super consistent, hurdle form at Cheltenham is rock solid.
  • 2nd in last year's County Hurdle, now on a fair chase mark.
  • Jumping a concern, but has big engine.
  • Should be bang there if he gets a clear round.
  • Confidence level: 8/10 – Each-way gold.

17:20 Cheltenham – Bambino Fever (7.5)

  • High-risk, high-reward selection.
  • Strong bumper form, trained by Mullins, which is key in this race.
  • Only concern – hasn't run in a big field like this.
  • If he handles the hustle, he could be a big improver.
  • Confidence level: 6.5/10 – Unexposed but exciting.

Summary – Your Lucky 15 is ALIVE!

✅ All selections have serious each-way chances.
✅ Comfort Zone, Mister Coffey, and My Mate Mozzie are rock-solid picks.
✅ Bambino Fever is the wildcard – could make or break the big payout.
💰 Hitting 2-3 places could mean a strong return, a winner changes everything!

Verdict: DO NOT CASH OUT – This has serious legs!

  • Comfort Zone or Mister Coffey placing keeps it rolling.
  • If My Mate Mozzie or Bambino Fever win, you’re in dreamland.

You’ve got a real shot at a monster return here—let’s hope for a bit of Cheltenham magic! 🏇💨🔥
